Oil Change Interval??????????????

"All this stuff" ? It comes from my inability to forget trivial bits is sh*t that clutter in my head over the years. I'm plenty stupid in lots of things. I almost let Nico take me for a ride on his bike! How dumb is that??? :-)

Going back to oil, How much dirt oil can hold and still lubricate safely used to be one of the yardstick for measurements that the oil industry used to apply to the longevity for their oil. Yea we all want to pour a pound of dirt in our motors!!!

Nico, it was BLACK. I thought I said that but maybe I left it out of my post
It was as black as a harley t-shirt, black as BD's tires, black as the ace of spades, black as Elvira's hair. ;) ;)

Oil Change Interval??????????????

<<<Thats 2100 miles on the oil and it looked black. When I say black, I mean black as coal, black as midnight on a moonless night>>>

TC, I used to own and ride a Honda Magna, 750, V-4. I'd change the oil and after about 3500 miles, I'd change it again and it would come out the same color as the day I put it in.

With a twin, that's a different story. Your oil actually turned black after about 30 miles after you changed it. Why? Carbon and other impurities in the oil that come from the use of a twin. The oil is doing it's job if it's black. All you have to do is ride and relax.

Trip is right TC, you're fine with black oil. As for BD, it's not the trivial bits of sh*t, he's just full of it in general.
