Sorry to be MIA for a couple days. I'm in McComb and I'm on my third 1500. The 1st was, "Lulu" a 2000 red and gold Fi Classic that I sold in '04 to buy a friend's red and black '02 Nomad when he had to have knee replacement surgery. I called her "Lola".
I started riding in 1955 on a Harley 165 Hummer delivering papers and have had a motorcycle of one type or another since then. I purchased a 1986 Gold Wing Aspencade in 1989 and my wife and I have ridden in 48 states and 7 Canadian provincences accumulating over 500,000 miles since then. Wish I'd kept track of how many miles I have on my old butt since beginning in 1955!
As GWRRA Mississippi District Directors we were putting so many miles on our '04 Wing that I didn't have time to ride the '02 Nomad and against my wife's wishes, I sold the bike in 2008. Always listen to your wife! Long story short, I missed the big V-twin so I searced the internet for four months until I found just what I wanted. In Brandon, MS, no less!
I'm laughed at because I name my bikes, but what the heck! I purchased a 2003 Pearl Black Nomad and brought her home. I got out my One Shot sign paints and lettered "Lili" on the rear fender under the license plate. I'd post a pic of the bike but everytime I do, folks holler and say the pic is too blamed big.
I'll figure it out one day so you can see what she looks like.
