So glad you're OK!! I say a quick prayer of thanks to the Nomad designers when I hear of stories like this. The gyroscopic balance and beefy design help when fighting something like that. And you did a great job as a rider too.

I took a piece of flying tire about 12 inches long in the windshield at 70 MPH a few weeks ago. The Nomad shook it off like a bug! It also convinced me never to ride again without the windshield...it would have hit me right in the neck or chest...OUCH!

The unexpected happens so fast....

Suddenly I saw a nine foot length of truck tread stretching across the road. I thought I am not going to ride this out. As I hit I aimed for the center and prepared to go down. I bounced up, then the trailer went. The front end went into a tankslapping manuver and I remember thinking I am still in trouble. A touch of back brake and even pressure on the front end while coming down in speed and I was back traveling down the road. The bike was not damaged. The trailer had a chain come off the bike and one fender got bent down almost to the tire. Sometimes it just pays to be lucky I reckon.
Definitely hard on the underwear, but a small price to pay.
