The 765T is the one I am holding out for CycleCat.

Thanks for responses, sounds like the car units will work just fine with the RAM mount to isolate vibrations, since I don't ride in the rain water proof isn't an issue.

I got the 765T for $230 at Costco just a week ago. I did have the 755 but I wanted the blue tooth setting so I upgraded. A lot of times Costco has better prices on their website than in the store but this time the store was cheaper. Costco also does free shipping by courier and you have up to a year to return things to the nearest store.

Hey CycleCat, did you return the 755 or would you like to sell it?

I use an old Garmin Street Pilot that I got on Ebay for $25 with free shipping. I also got a free upgrade to 2010 maps. I made a bracket that mounts it on the handlebars. Does what I wanted, tells me where I want to go and so far no problems.

I use the Garmin 550 with a ram mount. Works fine so far. I don't use the voice feature so headphone output is not an issue for me. One cool thing is that it has a very accurate speedometer display! I hate the speedo error built into these bikes!

I have used my Garmin 255w on a Ram mount two times for about an hour each time.
So far, no problems.

I had a Magellan which broke largely due to my vibrating cobra pipes on my suzuki M50-- it couldn't handle it, and broke in less than a year!

I have garmin nuvi 255WT for a car, but it appears to work OK... would love a MC specific garmin, but that costs a small fortune! I plan on using a sandwich zip lock bag in the event of rain.

Found a cheap plastic handlebar mount on Ebay.

Sorry Hammer, didn't see your post until now. I returned the 755 since Costco will take stuff back for a year. They actually have the 765 on sale, in the store, right now, for $210.

That's OK CycleCat. I finally picked up a new Garmin 255W and a ram mount off Amazon.com.
For the price I couldn't resist. So far it's been great!

I have used the Garmin Streetpilot 2610 for years with no problem but I just bought the Garmin 750 and like it a lot has an MP3 player headphone jack and an FM transmitter and you can use the Garmin map quest to make and down load your routes from your computer. It is not waterproof like the 2610 but my wife has lots of zip lock bags and it only takes a second to remove it from the Ram mount.

I was just checking out ram mounts on their website. They really look secure. When I personaly pick up a GPS, I think I'll definately pick up one of those mounts.
