Well done, Canada!

What do you think, Mitch? Like I said before, I like the Saints, I just like the Colts a little more, especially since they dumped Duece like they did last year and the defensive coach's only plan was to cripple the other team's QB. But they played a clean game and deserved to win, they just wanted it more, plain and simple. And I'm happy either way. I follow players more than teams. I like the Giants (Eli), Colts (Peyton), Vikings (Brett) and the Saints (especially when Deuce was with 'em)...On a side note, WHO DAT? does get a little old. How ya like the NFL trying to ban the phrase and get their cut out of sales on everything? Man, they own everything and all the rights. The NFL is a juggernaut.

I wish they would ban it....I got tired of hearing it the first year it started. I don't think you can find a thread where I used it. Everyone nationwide thinks we need to brush up on our english. I speak with a flat "down the bayou" accent, but do know the difference between dat and that. Hell, Boudreaux and Thiboduax don't say "dat" anymore.

Well done, Canada!

I played goalie. Being from NY, I am a Ranger fan. John Davidson and Eddie Giacomin were my idols, and Gilles Villemure lived next door to my Aunt. I used to love to watch Guy LaFleur. That guy could skate.

I just hope the snow holds out for the skiing events. They are calling for milder temps and rain in that area.
I heard the other day that Mother Nature has not been kind to the Vancouver area this winter.

The biggest thing that happened in Salt Lake City in decades was the 2002 winter games. We moved from there in 1999, so we had to watch them on tv with the rest of the world.

It was so nice to see the great Bobby Orr once again. I played hockey during his heyday and he and Phil Esposito were heroes to me.

Well done, Canada!

Well the closing is even better than the opening was, A lot of well played events by all teams. Who would have thought that Canada would set a record breaking 14 golds. There were a few tense moments during the hockey game were it could have gone either way! Well Done everyone!!

Well done, Canada!

Canada shows it's a class act. Even if they do speak French!!

...and what's with the women hockey players drinking beer and smoking cigars? And trying to commandeer the Zamboni machine???

Seriously, I wish I could have watched the men's game, but we were driving across Hoover Dam when we found it on the radio. We did DVR the closing ceremonies and we'll watch those tonight.

I think Canada did a great job with the games!

I don't know why some of those girls would show that kind of behavier out on the ice. Its not the best choice, but I guess they had a lot to celebrate, they must have been on a real high after the game.
The french here does add a unique flavour to our culture, not so much out on the west coast, but I used to travel to Quebec very regularly and they sure know how to have a good time. There were a lot of fun times in Quebec. Sometimes I wish though that they would not try to force it on us quite as much across the rest of the country.

Hey, watch that! We speak it down here too. Works great when you don't want the grandkids to eavesdrop on a private conversation. ;)

Congratulations to our Canadian friends on a great Winter Olympics. Those Canadian girls can really make the smoke fly.

Well done, Canada!

How about our team breaking the record for total medals? And we're mostly a warm-weather sports nation... And how many athletes from other countries either live here, train here, play for a professional team here or go to school in our country and then turn around and compete against us? It's really ridiculous at the summer olympics every year. Everybody wants in but it's always US against the World.
