Quick release saddle bag bolts

I was the same way until I got the bolts with knobs. Mine are not what I would call quick release, just handy to get off without tools. Mine cost $13 off ebay. I saw some on there just last week.

Yeah I did loose a saddlebag once even with lockwashers and I decided not to use them. It seems that if you have them too tight then you can't easily get them off by hand. The welded on piece is probably the way to go. McMaster-Carr is the place you can order about any kind of hardware. But I probably have enough bolts and knobs to make you a set if you want them. Send me a pm and give me some time to find them.

I use a 19.2 volt craftsman 1/4" impact driver with a socket. Heck I find myself using this setup on most projects. Can't imagine a faster or easier way to get them on or off.

Now, what kind of butthead would go through the trouble of making excellent quick release bolts (from Gadget's site), then forget to include checking their tightness on a regular basis?

What idjut would not use a simple lock washer to prevent a bag from working loose?

(I got another bag on eBay, and it's at the painter now, btw)

The two rear knobs keep working loose on me, I use blue loctite that seems to hold them, but I can still undo them by hand if I need to. The front two knobs stay tight on there own.

Quick release saddle bag bolts

I started this looking for a place to get them. Thanks for all the input and worries, but if I find them I will get them.
If anybody has any ideas on where to buy them please let me know.
Bill

Funny, my knobs are always almost too tight! I got tight knobs? Is there a cure for that? Also, the bag liners would probably keep the knobs in place even if they got loose, that is if you have liners. I need a drink!

Mine was the right bag. I will swap you right bags and then yours and mine will match, ok?

Reprinted from Gadgets Site:

you can order them from an online company, McMaster Carr. The thumbscrews shown in all descriptions (except the large saddlebag quick release) are part number 91175A66 which will be sent in a package (25) ($7.40 the package at this writing). Bolts are also available from Carr but, as with the thumbscrews come in packages which will increase your cost a bit. (Or PM me I will send you some bolts and caps.)
