Mini-Video/Pic Cam

I contacted the camera seller and got both the camera and the chip for $38.

I did manage to take a quick video of my computer. Hit the on/off button first and then the camera button. The orange light flashed three times.

Re-connected the camera to the USB port and transferred the file to the computer where it played nicely.

But there is a time/date on the picture from 2008. The instructions say something about a CD which I did not receive.

Anyone know how to change/remove the time/date notation?

The instructions that came with it are almost worthless.

Here's a good web site that has a lot of information on it.

Apparently, these cameras have been adopted by remote control airplane enthusiasts.

Here's one I took inside with only natural light.

I need to aim it a little better, but it's still pretty
good picture quality for only $38.

Here's another one taken from my bike.

I used scotch tape to tape the camera to the top of the
left turn signal on my Nomad and tied the key ring to
the bar to make sure I wouldn't lose it.

:-)

I was a little surprised by how much the bike seems to bounce.
I'm not aware of that while riding. Or, maybe, it's just the camera moving in the wind.

Regardless, I think I'll have some fun with this!!

These were converted to .wmv by Windows Movie Maker.

Had one of mine plugged into the 'putter for about 16 hours, light never changed color so I guess it's charged (stayed orange). The micro memory cards I ordered on E-Bay have arrived so I'll be giving it a try when I get back to shore in 10 days. I'm curious too about the quality but I'm sure it'll be better than the broken English directions!
