I had an 94 vulcan 1500 bought it 94 for $8600 CAN new traded it in last Jan on the Lady In Red they came me $4000 bills for her. I did alot of studying on the nomad and as most people have said its nearly bullet proof. I have friend in the 1 CAV and they have Harley so swear by them saying they wont look at anything else, while others that have them are stuck with them because of the $$$ they spent on them and they are sitting in the dealer or their garage broken. I guess all I'm saying its a crap shoot when you buy something, could be a lemon or a peach. At the moment the Lady In Red is a peach but the real test will be the ride this summer. Cheers for now and have a great day folks.

Our local dealer in Lincoln does not put prices on the new bikes. When I was looking they told me a new Nomad would be $13,900 before assembly and freight charges. When we finished dickering the price out door had come down to $13,000. I went to another dealer 60 miles away and bought mine for $11,499 out the door.Of course later on I discovered the MSRP to be $12,999. So some dealers are much more scrupulous than others.

I agree with you Dan, you can get lower prices on many things, it's just that most of us don't consider negotiating on stuff we buy, except vehicles. Just my 1.5 cw (guess I just negotiated myself down)

I have no debts on anything except my residence and I put six figures down on it. If I wasn't a cheap bastard I don't know that I'd be in such good financial shape. But for some it might take a certain amount of shame in asking for a lower price. I'm shameless :) When I bought my 06 Nomad last year, I had cash to buy it, but in my cheapskate manner I got six months zero interest from Kawi, just so I could get interest on my own money for 6 months. When six months were up, I paid it off. Being cheap works, if you're shameless ![]() |

"You wouldn't think about dickering the price of a refrigerator or a TV"
If you call comparison shopping, waiting for the times of the year when they put them on sale dickering, I guess I do. Can't remember when I just went out and bought a durable good like a refrig without homework and checking several outlets for the best deal. Same with a vehicle, but the dealer expects "dickering" which is why they quote sticker price and sites like Edmund's quote "actual price people are paying." |
