Bubba's maybe 145 in a drenching rain storm. I ain't had time to worry 'out the man behind the curtain, or the evil monkey that lives in my closet. When I ride at night I swear I see deer heads everywhere! Are you still recovering from your last accident mac?

I went to see Bubba tonight and just as I expected he's recovering pretty darn good, the prognosis is so good that he just might get a room tomorrow! I almost lost a tear when the doctor told me that! His injuries are Three broken ribs, punctured lung, a left leg full o' road rash, and road rash on different parts of his body. I wanted to hug him so bad but I was scared I'd cause another injury.

Thanks everybody for your prayers and thoughts and his mama and dad also appreciate them as well. They a two fine Christian people and I'm glad to meet them.

Nuthin to recover from, as that ft fender paint isn't gonna heal... I wasn't hurt one bit and didn't drop the bike even because it couldn't be ... I crashed for the first time and the bike was never ever dropped once, not ever... This 06 has never been laid down..

That doesn't mean this was the first time I ever crashed, what it means is this is the first time I ever crashed and didn't also drop the bike....

Oddly I have never had any road rash, in the only 2 other crashes. The first in 79 which nearly killed me, and then in Aug 05 because i think the trailer came off the ball, and I broke 3 ribs.. No rashes though...

This last nothing other than the next day my chest was a little stiff, from holding myself against the impact...

Road rash has gotta hurt... I didn't know anyone was any lighter than me other than the gals.

I really do think your buddy will recover and be ok.. If he decides to ride again it could be a while before he gets it right. I got a bad case of the jitters when I returned after the 79 crash, and again in 05.

First things first though, and he will need to learn to crawl, before he walks..

Last, since he is 145, that has gotta mean he is spry, and will get up and walk faster than if he was a larger man.

Before the bones could heal in 79, I was out in the yard building 2 wood strip and canvass kayaks...

As far as I know road rash don't hurt except when you move it while its healing. It had a slight burning feeling to me. Some others may want to chime in on this, I'm not an expert. My bad case was up th back of my right arm. It didn't even hurt when she scrubbed the dirt and dead skin to clean it.

Jitters? I'm still scared to death to ride home at night! It's not that bad, it's more like spooky. As I get into the city the traffic is unnerving. But that's how much I enjoy riding to over look those incovieniences. I can't remember how long the jitters lasted from my '07 deer crash, just one day you comfortable again and don't realize it.

There's no doubt Bubba's gonna ride again. He loves it like I do. He just got the thing back on the road after a $3,000.00 engine rebuild! And while it was down he rode his Pan Head and da__ed if it didn't tear up to! :) MY HARLEY BUDDY!!!!!!!!!

He'd make a good definition of spry on Google. :)

Sounds about like what I figured... By any chance is this guy got a real bushy mustach, and was in Yellow Stone at Old Faithful about mid Sept 05?

I been burned before in a big enough way that I think of road rash like that. Guy cuttin barrel tops off fiberglass resins missed one and I got all blown up, I mean air born til a wall with tool hooks stopped me. Then I fell off the bench and landed on the floor, in a puddle that sorta put me out.

Resin was on my right side neck and shoulder in a tank top. Getting that scrubbed off with acetone was a real wake up! I was smokin mad I lost any hairs

The 'rash' has just gotta be like that.. Always cracking after it dried

Naw.......my best recollection was he was here in Winston-Salem, NC in Sept. 05. And he's a scroungy little feller has a scroungy looking beard and mustache and he rides a Harley. Imagine that!!!!! He grows his hair down to the middle of his back and donates it to "Locks of Love". I swore when I got out of the Navy I'd let mine grow out like that. It's been nearly thirty years and it's never gotten more than a quarter inch long. The "Man" made a heck of an impression on me!

So you've nearly killed yourself in more ways than juss bikes! I try to avoid chemical and explosives. Had I not,,,,,,,I'd have been dead 30 years ago.

Thanks everybody for your prays and thoughts. I went to see him Sunday night and considering the circumstances I thought he looked pretty good. He raised his bandaged hand and I layed mine in it and gently shook his hand. The Doc is releasing him to a private room today. The neck brace will come off providing no ligaments have been pulled or damaged. He still has to recoup from the spleen operation, and the three broken ribs. I believe he's out of the woods. :)

Again, Y'all be careful, and take your time out there and watch out for the other vehicals, dogs and other animals. It's rough when your in an accident and it ain't no picnic for the folks that know you. :)

Oh yeah I have tried to kill myself all sorts of wacky ways. Been blown up and impalied on tool hooks, Hit a log or phone pole water skiing the long way, and got my ass all splintered up . Hit Daytona bch with a sea going surfing kayak and blasted thru the deck which hurt, and then got a sea going version of road rash to boot. The salty water was painfull with that rash too.

If there is a way to get hurt doing anything you can count I will find it.

Thats how I know not having a spleen isn't a bad thing..

I got bit by a brown recluse 8 times too.. I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. That was in a Feburary of the year and in Memorial Day week the weeping wounds ATE my buck skinner legging off... Just one because just one leg was bit up..

That leg looked like it belonged to a cadaver too. I didn't have leather on hand to make any new leggins with so I offered a knife I made for another set, and got them and a nice beaded bag i still have. The new leggins lasted the rest of the week, and the one that didn't get ate up became 1 pair of mocs.. The other one was all ate up too.

Avoid them spiders.

I met a guy that fits the discription to a T. He was with another rider on a HD, a women though who I think was out of New Symirna Fla... Her bike refused to start at Old faitful the day before. So I was doing me as me and trying to help.

Wouldn't mind bumping into those folks again....
