Things a Nomad can do, but some might not know

I like the funny noises it makes and the way the speedo needle moves when ya turn the key on.

It has a park light, lights up the rear tail light only. I've only ever used it once, there is only so long you could leave it on without the battery going down.

I left it in a spot that would be easy to not see it if you weren't paying attention, I left the park light on to get cars attention. But only did it for 15 min or so.

Haven't found it to be all that useful.
I'm pretty sure you can leave it on all night in a garage or something and it will still start right up the next morning. Don't ask how I know that...I, er my buddy left his on once. Yeah, that's the ticket.

If you kick it in gear without pulling up the kickstand the bike will die. Safety mechanism I guess.

(I didn't read the whole thread to see if this was already posted.)

They have push to cancel turn signals.

I knew somebody that had a few thousand miles on one without noticing that.

I was so used to using the push to cancel feature on my first bike (800B) that I rode a few thousand miles on the Nomad before I found out that it had auto canceling turn signals.

Stop at an intersection in third, fourth, or was it fifth, and it is impossible to down shift back to first or neutral. The nad has to be moving, mostly just a few inches to get the transmission to shift under this condition. Not easy with one foot on the shift lever and the other trying to push the bike a bit to get things to engage. The mechanics informed me it is a normal quirk. I think the dealer plates spared me from the honking horns. Since then, I have gone to great lengths to down shift before stopping.

Taking it for even a short spin will put a smile on your face no matter what mood you were previously in.

Surprising my riding bud who has a new Goldwing by staying on his butt while cruising at 90-100mph. He just thought he was going to leave me behind.

It's the little things...........

Ahhhh, the 05's and 06's have auto canceling turn signals. You can PUSH to cancel but if you forget they will cancel themselves. As long as you are sitting still they will continue to flash but once moving the countdown circuit will be activated and shortly after the signals will cancel.

I think they all did. At least my 2000 Nomad has them.
