Mean City is less than an hour from my house so I use their ride in service and have it done while I wait...it's cool to have input while there and watch it being done (they have a window into the shop from the waiting room). I think they offer same day service when you schedule your seat to be shipped so it's just shipping time plus one day...pretty sweet business model they have.

If you need a long distance seat, Russell Day Long is hard to beat.

Try Kawasaki Seat
Honestly,
Its all up to you I went with the original Kawasaki seat just with a little adding to it. If your carrying a passenger this seat is for you, you sit up only a little straighter but you can also switch back and forth is your just riding alone. and I think its like a $100 cheaper than the others. |

I like my Corbin, it's much much better and wider than the stock seat but it's still a little firm so my friend told me about one of these and I tried one, It's the best dam 80 bucks I've spent when it comes to cushioning a seat, it feels like you're riding on a layer of air, I love it...

That is why it's called an air hawk you are sitting on a air cushion. :)

Well I guess I have to decide, I like the idea of using my seat pan and saving a few...but then again I like the looks of the Corbin and Mustang. May hold off and try to make to the rally in Panama City, just a short ride from here.

A Corbin and Mustang and basically off the shelf mass produced seats. The Day Long and seats like them are more tailored for you. It's not that much difference in price and in some cases pretty much none. Form should almost always follow function. You may like the looks of the mustang better, but the Day Long will work better. The only caveat I'll say about a Russell Day Long is that if you are short/have short legs, they do raise the seat height a bit. YMMV.

My vaquero came with a Mustang on it. Other than the backrest, I couldn't stand it. I don't like seats that raise me up, and it hurt my tailbone. I would rather be lowered to help keep the center of gravity lower, and help handling. I have a Corbin Young Guns on it now, and I absolutely love it! Corbins definitely aren't for everyone. They are hard and tend to be pretty flat, but that hardness gives me the support I want, and a very connected feeling to the bike. I have had Corbins on 3 bikes now, and will likely have one on everything I own from here on. I have done a couple of 1000 mile days on my Vaquero, I did a 1300 mile day on my Concourse, and on my Z1000, my longest was 750, but I had several 3000 mile weeks. If you get a chance to sit on a Corbin, I would. As much as I love them, they are not for everyone, and I would definitely not buy my first one without at least getting an idea of what it feels like.
