Drilling will open it up a bit, but without a tuner, it is going to run even leaner that it already is from the factory. When I drilled mine, i had a PCV, so I was able too do a little butt tunning to reduce the decel backfire, and shapen the throttle response. It also got a little better mpg. I looked at it as a very temporary fix, until I got my pipes in and was able to put the air cleaner on, then get it properly tuned.
