I'd say keep the conversation public on when and where. You never know who might show up.

Good Point Mike!
So Zoom, my thought is that we could get together on next Tuesday the 20th if the weather is good. There are two bike nights on Tuesday that are close by me and both are reasonably civilized. The first starts at 5:30ish and winds down by 7:30 ish. Here's that location and it's a good place to eat while not expensive. Regency Ale House & Raw Bar 9541 Regency Square Boulevard Jacksonville, FL 32225 The otheris at Hooters on Southside Blvd and it starts around 6 and runs till around 9ish. Food there is like any other hooters and that is ok. Hooters-Tinsletown, 4521 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216 Both bike night are just getting started up after the winter shut down so they are not large but they do provide restricted to motorcycles parking and have locations to sit outside and enjoy the spring weather if you so choose. Something I like to do before it gets really hot. My number is 904-476-1108 and anyone that is interested give me a call? Ross

Made it to Jacksonville! When I was about 80 miles west of Jacksonville, I passed a blue and silver Nomad headed the same way pulling a trailer. Was that anyone on here? If so I was the black Nomad pulling a trailer that passed you. I got in a heavy rain at Gulfport so now my bike is dirty. Which bike night are we meeting at if the weather stays good? I didn't have a chance to find the location this afternoon but I have it in the gps so I can get there. Not sure what time I'll get off work but I'll call Ross when I know.

Glad you made it safely to Jax. Post what night and where you are going to meet. Maybe I'll be able to come up.

I'm on the northend of town by the airport. Will it be quicker to get to the bike nights by taking 295 to the southeast side?

Zoom, I hate do this but it's Tuesday around 1:30 in Jacksonville and since Monday morning I haven't been more that a few feet from the bathroom. Wife and I both got Flu of epic proportions. I will watch for your call but it will be several more days before I go anywhere. Call and I will give you directions, sorry to leave you high and dry!!!

That stuff is rough especially when the weather is warmer. That's ok, looks like it may rain anyway. Hope you get to feeling better.

Thanks for being understanding! It chaps my hide when I get stood up so I hate to do it to someone! It's Wens around 4 PM and I have made it to drinking a little ginger ale and a bite of the occassional gram-cracker. I guess the only blessing of some thing that comes on so hard and fast is maybe it will burn out quickly. It's kinda iffy right now but if I am over it by Thursday evening I might try and drive up and at least say hello. If you are by the airport you are about 15 miles from me. Where are you staying? Do you have time free Thurs evening? I think that is your last night here and I am a very iffy visitor right now so don't revolve any of your plans around me, it's just sort of wishfull thinking outloud right now. Thanks Ross s

I'm at the Hyatt. Looks like I may get off a little early tomorrow. If I do, we planned on riding over to the beach. I wanted to ride over that big bridge too just to say I did it.

Hey Zoom
It's about 4:30 PM and still a crappy day (literally) around me so am glad you made plans. It looks very pretty outside so I hope you are having a nice ride and make it out to the beach. I'll miss you this time but hopefully we can fix that some day. Have a safe ride home. Looks like it will be a great weekend for it. And if you got a little time on the way home the Leesburg bike fest will be on Saturday. I wont't be there either :( but it usually is a fun place to visit. Ross

Just made it home from Jacksonville. Didn't think I would make it. I left Jacksonville at 6:30 AM (Eastern time) and just got home 10:30 PM (Central time). On the way back I made a detour off I-10 and went to Panama City to see the hotel I will stay in next month then rode to Destin. I left there to go back to I-10 and got caught in some bad thunderstorms. It rained hard and almost all the way home except for about the last 75 miles. I had to pull off the road several times. I just couldn't see to drive. We also got in some small hail one time. Several cars had hydroplaned and ran in the ditch. By the way - I would not recommend a Fieldsheer rain suit. This was my first time to wear it. The pants were ok but the jacket leaked so bad I was soaked. I had to strip at a rest stop to ring out the water. Florida was a fun ride though.
