2010 Rally Ride Ideas
Well, in addition to riding all the roads I can.....I'd like to ride to Mountain View, AR and go through the Ozark Folk Center. It might take all day to do it tho.

Rand McNally says from Eureka Springs to Mountain View is 121 miles equalling 2 hours and 50 minutes of driving time. If the people that wanted to go was ready at 8:00 am, say 3 hours down there, 4 hours there (that would include 1 hour lunch time) and 3 hours back, they would be back in ES around 6:00 pm. Quite doable!

Some more info for you guys: Lambert's Cafe is in Ozark MO, about 90 miles from ES and they are open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. They do not take credit cards, only cash or checks.
Silver Dollar city is about 60 miles from ES and they are open from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm. An adult day pass is $54.81. A senior day pass ( 62+ ) is $52.66 but there is a group discount with 15 or more people. How much of a discount the website didn't say. You can check out the park on there website at: bransonsilverdollarcity.com If we just want to go through Branson on a sight seeing tour, I would suggest we get there before noon as hwy 76 through the show area becomes a nightmare on a bike with all the stop and go traffic any later in the day. We could easily incorperate the Branson tour with eating lunch at Lambert's. |

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't mind seeing Branson on a short tour (walk around downtown and eat some sweets) and eating at Lambert's. I'm not sure about spending that much money to see Silver Dollar City.....but, I'll be with the group and will do whatever the group wants.
On our way back from Branson, we could ride through Bull Shoals and take the ferry across the lake? It's free. Highway 125 between Protem, MO. and Peel, AR... just a suggestion, Watchman. http://www.hilliard.ws/runningozarks/oz002.htm http://www.hilliard.ws/runningozarks/runningozarks.htm

Also if you wanted to go to Lambert's on Friday we can have the cookout on Saturday then we wouldn't have to have reservations for the Saturday night meal. I f we have enough interest in this I will set up a poll to see what everyone wants to do.

That's a good idea Jim. Then wherever we end up on Saturday we wouldn't have to worry about getting back in time for the reservation.

Sounds like a plan. If I ride on Saturday, it would only be until noon. It will take me most of the afternoon to prepare the gumbo and potato salad. I don't want a bunch of angry, hungry bikers waiting on supper. That could be deadly. :(" title="" border="0"/>
