Heading to Eastern Canada!
I need to get up that way. CB where we were treated like kings and queens. Off that circle heading west out off it the first place on the right where you can see water well to the west is a real old victorian house with a newer house. Behind these places is a mt ridge line.
Some real fine folks live there but their Dad passed away. I knew him best. Might be lobster boat and traps off season in the dooryard. IIRC the boat is light green.

the rally is fun, but you're right mac, its a very small place and you have to book your accomodation minimum a year ahead if you want to be in close. last summer they had 75 thousand bikers in the weekend despite the hurricane that hit us on the saturday..lol
actually right now, the main street probably has only one restaurant open....lol cheers |

Heading to Eastern Canada!
I was there in Oct 01, right after 911 here in NYC and I didn't need a res fer nuthin. Any places we stopped locals wanted us to stay with them. We spent 16 nights, had a tent we never used once and stayed at motels only 3 nights.
I never heard of such hospitalility in my life as what happened to us on CB. That first place I was scared a while i thought the old guy was gonna eat us litterally. He had a pic of his grown sons on the book shelf in bright red devil suits from a halloween the year before. That old Victorian place creeked in the wind too. He was gonna light up an 80 gallon water heater from stone cold incase we had laundery! I put a stop to that idea and to him the name McKay still ment something. Maybe I can post his name open He was a MacDonanald. My ancestors come from there. remotely I still have living relitives there once removed or something since they don't know me and I don't know them, but Lyons is a name, Mckay another, Robinson too. I have old family pics of places still there of buildings I got to see for my first time in 01 too. I am happy with my mountains or I would take NS for myself too, but you guys could still be there. I only take up about a 2x 6 foot spot to lay down ya know. Well maybe 4 feet wide if I bring my Bride.

Oct 01/, well then it's time to start planning a re-visit Bill.
The trip down 2 summers ago was our first trip to N.S and Cape Breton. I have been to New Brunswick before, but never on a bike, so traveling through there on the Nomad was another first.

Ive never been east on a bike either, but its certainly a place I want to go back to. Id love to rode the Cabot Trail on the bike.
We were there with a motor home about ten years ago and had one of our best vacations ever.

A motor home on the CB trail, I bet you still have to lean into some of the corners.

A couple of the big hills were giving me the pucker factor. I still remember gearing it down, trying to slow it, and you could smell the brakes burning. I had to stop and let the brakes cool down a few times. The good thing is we got to see some whales during one of these brake stops.

Well for those who don't already know you do CB clockwise starting at 6:00. otherwise you tend to get lots of sun in your eyes.
On the roads you can expect loose gravel in the tighter turns too. For me it is no place to go fast, but mostly because i like to see the scenery slip by, and understand what it was I saw. The Lk G trip was a bit faster than I can take in stuff. Of course right here i go like wind cuz I seen it 50+ years, and can ride with both eyes closed dragging a toe which is all I need to know except fer Moose.

We did it counter clockwise. That way you are on the ocean side. Can't say as I remember the sun being a problem, but what do I know, hey we just followed Caper.

yeah I figured you canooks all knew how to do it right. It's us yanks that don't.
I love that place. I forget the cove beach just as you turn towards meat cove. It's like the last scenic view on a steep place, where you can look way down and see a small cove. I'ld like to camp there about 3 seasons someday.

Caper has a trailer in a park somewhere out there, maybe he can tell us more when he chimes in.

sarc, i might hike down to that beach but I ain't about to climb back up, must drop off at around 60 degrees, which is some mighty steep.
I mean on slip and fall, and in a couple seconds you be down on the beach, and likey in real bad shape.

When we toured there I went counter clockwise as well. We did the whole thing in one long day. My wife was a little nervous on som of the road where it was high up from the ocean, she doesn't like heights all that much.
She just about crapped herself when we were crossing the Confederation bridge to PEI because of the height.
