Air Horn
I got mine from JC Whitney years ago and they are the loudest I've ever heard!

Air Horn
Just as a side note: When they say "Don't try the horn in your garage", they are not kidding.
Of course, I had to do it anyway, and they were right! Even worse, I accidentially bumped the switch while loading the bike into my enclosed cargo trailer. Ears rang for quite a while. :(

Hey Kid,
Posted this today in Garage section on repair/modification on 1500/1600 then saw your thread this evening so thought I would add this here. No new wiring, no relays or fuses to add, $15 vs $45 for the Stebel and their knock offs and you get 132 db vs stebels 139. And isn't as ugly as the stebels! The other day I was at advance auto to get some brake pads (for car). Had to wait for the Cuban attendant to try to explain to an Indian dude (Florida, the melting pot of the world) about why he couldn't return a open gallon of anti-freeze (even though he didn't use any?) in something that bore only a small resemblance to English. I noticed a rack of replacement horns. Most were just the replacement ones for under your hood but there was one stack that had black plastic covers that looked just like the cheesy chrome cover on our horns. I picked one up and it looked it over and thought: dang it looks just like ours and it's 132 db and it's only $14! So I bought it. This morning it was raining so I went out to the garage with a nice hot cup of coffee. Used needle nose pliers to take the two wires off my horn, and a socket to remove the bolt on the horn bracket. Put my horn and bracket on work bench next to the horn from Advance and said; dang, these things are almost identical! took the nut off the back of my horn and set it aside. Put the new horn on my bracket. Had to use nut (and a dab of red loctite) that came with it as thread different than the Kaw horn. Bolted bracket back on the bike(loctite again) and put the two wires from bike on the new horn. Key in, turn on, push button, HONK HONK HONK! Big grin! Coffee was almost gone so went back in house and wife standing by the door. First words out of her mouth were: "are you nuts? You are going to wake up the whole neighborhood!" Really big grin on my face now! Ten minutes including coffee drinking time and a $14 alternative to air horns and special brackets and extra wires. In the next day or two I will take a picture of the horn and see if I can't post advances part number.

Hey everyone...thanks for all of the great feedback on the horns. My next purchase as the PHAT II risers have already been ordered. Think I will at least check out Advance Auto.

I went to Advance Auto today. They carry the Fiamm brand. Basic one that uses existing wiring and is 132 decibals is $20. Other one that looks like the canister and includes the relay at 139 decibels is $54. More research to do.
