Totally Agree with you. Indian also has put feature rich bikes onto the market. It is going to hurt Yamaha, Kaw, or Suzuki in the US market if they don't do more than just paint a bike black.

You also have to think, the Vaq came out two years ago. It's been longer than that since the last HD redesign, and Victory isn't adding features as much as they are re branding old bikes with new names (sometimes with less features).

And just because you weren't happy with yours doesn't mean most that buy aren't. There are obviously people still buying judging by the amount of voyagers and nomads I have seen around. I wish they had more colors, but hell most of the people complaining are people that already moved away from Kawasaki anyways.

Kawasaki makes a damn good bike but their market is more than just the big cruisers like harley and vic. They make everything else too w some great bikes for their genre like the zx-14 or the connie which is all you want in a sport tourer. Some of the guys on here that bought other bikes are at that stage where they know exactly what they want and are willing to pay for those extra things. Some made an effort and tried the 1700 Voyager after owning a 1600 Nomad but it wasn't the right fit. I couldn't be happier w my 08 Nomad but I don't look for a bike to have everything. I'll never want a trunk or a batwing yet I can travel anywhere just fine w her. They may not have the fit n finish of a harley or the performance of a vic but they are rock solid dependable and if you do a little looking it is much easier to get a good bang for your buck price. I love having multiple bikes in my garage and will always have a Nomad. My other 2 bikes now are also Kawasaki and all have been absolutely reliable so whatever bikes I add in the future will likely be also.

I own a 2012 Connie and it is a great bike. However, in 2013 the Yamaha FJR added throttle by wire (and cruise control) similar to the voyager. The press release for both the 2014 Connie and FJR were just released. The Connie recycled a paint color. The FJR announced electronically adjustable suspension.
The Concours 14 was widely heralded in 2008 when it was introduced and won many ST shootouts. In 2010, it got a few tweaks to the fairing, mirror position, ABS and traction control. However, the BMW K1600 came out and started to dominate the segment reviews. These bikes aren't in the same price category so I am not entirely sure that it is entirely legitimate to compare. But the mags that do these comparisons do shape public opinion to some extent. The Triumph Trophy came back in 2013 and was generally well received, the FJR was updated and all of a sudden the Connie was down to number 3 (or 4) in most comparisons.
As Manny said, Kawasaki has such an extremely varied product line (dirt, cruiser, dual purpose, ST, mule, atv etc) it is probably not realistic to expect changes in all models every year. I expect to keep the Connie for a few years (only had it 11 months so far) but, if it does not add cruise control, I will likely look elsewhere for my next purchase.

Me personally I want Kawasaki to grow their big bike segment. I have 5 Kaw's and 1 Harley in my garage and room for more. I was hoping that Kawasaki would wow me like they did with the Vaquero. I was thinking about a Nomad, but it looks like Indian might get the space.

The Two tone Nomad with all black bags looks wierd. I would like to se a solid colored Nomad that isnt black. Maybe red like Jareds that would be badass. I love my Nomad just did 1200 mile trip through Vermont and New Hampshire ever since cobra power pro it runs perfect. Iwould buy another Kawasaki but I think the new Indian Chieftain looks awesome and I will be buying one in 2014 after a test ride ofcourse. Hopefully there will be a Indian dealer on long Island by then.

Look at the second picture of the Nomad ABS and tell me who the second rider has a very close resemblance to. I zoomed in a couple of times to make sure it wasn't him. Still not 100% sure it isn't.

It isn't him, but a close "look-a-like" for certain...

On another note... I don't mind the black and white Nomad's look. Sort-of a police-bike look...

HE is riding a Goldwing now
The Nomad with black bags has a two tone rear fender.
The Nomads I have seen with two tone bags have a one color rear fender.
Kawasaki just changing it up a little.

Haha, he's a dead ringer for someone we know, that's for sure!

I like the black and white look, but they should have carried it to the saddlebags as well. Maybe a white lid...

Sorry... but contrary to popular belief... that's not who you're thinking it might be in the kawa pic with Brian Gibson (although, it is a dead ringer). Also contrary to popular belief, that person is not riding a Goldwing.

You've upgraded to this Trip. Looks like a Can-Am.
