I picked it up from my sons when they were younger. It sounds nicer than "I f***ed up!". I get in trouble when I say that at work.

In my drill instructor days I talked like that a lot. Things have changed. I'm not supposed to say that now that I'm clean cut and wholesome. (you do believe that right?)
