Nice day for a ride

My wife and I rode to Silver Bay,Mn, Shore of Lake Superior down to Two Harbors and the back roads home, about 180 miles.
92 when we got back home, pretty hot for this Minnesota boy.

Wife and I did 62 local miles today on the new bike. 224 miles on a 2 week old bike says what kind of weather we have been having down here.

Crystal and rode up to Mt. Nebo state park today.
About 165 miles round trip.
The sun stayed behind the clouds most of the time.
Made for comfortable temps.

I had a friend ride up for a visit, since I wasn't really in the mood to continue building my deck railing We went for a nice 150 mile ride instead. Its just what the doctor ordered.

Got back last night from a 540 mile round trip to Lake Cumberland to visit In-laws, great ride down but ran into rain on the way home.

I just ran around the neighborhood mainly to test my cruise control after reconnecting a few wires. It works fine again.

I went from 2200 feet to just over 8000 feet and a world of difference in temperature. Where is this magic cool place? Well if you are familiar with Tucson, AZ., it is Mt. Lemon. A short ride just north of Tucson proper - only 28 miles to the top. (about 70 miles for me today). There is a nice cafe in Summerhaven (great name for this mountain hamlet) called the saw mill cafe i believe, nice spot for lunch or breakfast.

The road up and down is full of twists and turns, having to share this road with "bicycle" riders one must be able to navigate these moving obstacles that believe they own the rode when we all know whom the real owners are.... Don,t we? Anyway a quick lunch and a walk around the small village, time to head back into the heat... Usually about 25 degrees difference in temps from top to bottom, and if you have ever been to Tucson in the middle of July. That temp difference is as refreshing as slipping into a cool pool, or sipping a corona and lime..... Ahhhhhh!

I think Lemon is 9100' at the top and can be reached on foot from a short walk from the last stop. A lot of beemer folk like the ride you are talking about. Another ride is to Payson, which is up around 8000' and then there is the ride up to Prescott through Wickenburg.

I went to work and back like every day but today the bike acted up and was barely running by the time I arrived. I found a chaffed wire and the Power Commander is toast, got it running ok for the ride home.

Just got back from a little over 100 miles and I went.......absolutely nowhere. The best kind of ride. I have discovered that I need a new seat and better ball support. Ended up sitting on all of them for the last 20 miles.
