430 mile Nomad day trip today. This picture was taken today about 50 miles south of Crescent City on Hwy 101. This was a herd of about 10 branch bulls! I also seen two other herds of elk, about 50 elk in each herd and a couple small bulls in each herd. One herd was about a mile south of Crescent City, almost in the city limits. I thought I would share with the Rally there next month.

Hey Replay. I've been up there many times and have seen Elk in the fields.. These boys and girls are going to enjoy seeing Northern Cal !!!!

Now I have to watch for elk too?? :) Never occurred to me that elk would be a road hazard in CA. Bad enough with the bighorn around here.

Bighorn sheep ain't that big. Certainly not as big as elk, not even close. Moose would be among the worst. Buffalo too.
