It just doesn't add up?

::)
LET ME SEE IF I HAVE THIS STRAIGHT:

HIS FATHER WAS A KENYAN, MUSLIM, BLACK---- WE HAVE SEEN SEVERAL PICTURES OF HIS AFRICAN 'FAMILY.

HIS MOTHER IS FROM KANSAS, ATHEIST, WHITE---- WHERE ARE THE PICTURES OF HIS KANSAN WHITE MOTHER AND HIS WHITE GRANDPARENTS WHO RAISED HIM.

HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER AND HIM WHEN HE WAS VERY YOUNG AND WENT BACK TO THE FATHER'S FAMILY IN KENYA.

HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND TOOK HIM TO JAKARTA WHERE HE WAS SCHOOLED IN A MUSLIM SCHOOL.

WHEN HIS MOTHER RETURNED TO HAWAII AND HE WAS RAISED BY HIS WHITE KANSAN GRANDPARENTS.

HE LATER WENT TO THE BEST, HIGHEST PRICED SCHOOLS. WHO PAID FOR THEM?

HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE THAT HE ACQUIRED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY FUND RAISER. HOW WAS IT "AQUIRED"?

HE "WORKED" AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO. HE HAS NEVER HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB. THE PRESIDENCY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS POST NOR IS IT SUBJECT TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SET ASIDES.

HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE.

HE IS PROUD OF HIS "AFRICAN" HERITAGE', BUT IT SEEMS THAT HIS ONLY AFRICAN CONNECTION WAS THAT HIS AFRICAN FATHER GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT SPERM CARRIED A 'CULTURAL' GENE. WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN HIS WHITE CULTURE?

HE GOES TO A 'AFROCENTRIC' CHURCH THAT HATES WHITES, HATES JEWS, AND BLAMES AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLDS PERCEIVED FAULTS AND THEN REPEATEDLY COVERS UP FOR THE PASTOR AND THE CHURCH'S STATED POSITIONS.

HE CLAIMS THAT HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR, BUT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE THAT HE CAN CONFRONT NORTH KOREA, IRAQ AND IRAN....YEAH, RIGHT!!!

I THINK I SEE HOW HE COULD CLAIM TO BE A UNITER AND BRING US TOGETHER....BUT I THINK THE REAL HOPE IS THAT HE HOPES NO ONE WILL PUT ALL THE PIECES TOGETHER, AND SEE THE REAL PICTURE.

For what its worth I've a seen a photo of his Grandparents.

Granted, I don't support everything he says but lets keep it real, he's obviously not a terrorist.

I voted for Bush but I finally had to stop making excuses for him and admit to myself he's not a very good president. The 2 party system has failed us. I'm with CaddmanQ - Vote Libertarian.

Not that I'm trying to defend Obama, I'm just against character slandor and smear campaigns. If you're running for office tell me what you stand for not what the other guy stands for. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp

The problem is that Barak isn't telling people what he really stands for. Hope and change is BS. The guy is a socialist at best. Being a libertarian and somewhat an Objectivist, I could never vote for him. I agree with you about Bush though. The problem is with two parties, it keeps people divided. It's like being a Red Sox or Yankee Fan, and there are only two teams in the league. It's great for the players and team owners, but kind of limiting for the fans. All I can say is that I do not see libertarianism going anywhere in the future. The world and the people in it want more guarantees than life should afford, and the rest of us will end up paying for it. Anyway, here is a good article:
http://johnrlott.tripod.com/op-eds/F...Pol052608.html

Barak is selling himself to these people. I don't want hope and change, I want the government out of my way and out of my life. Obligated tithing sücks. :)

The problem is that in general, politicians want to be everything to everyone. Taking a stand on issues means you run the chance of alienating a voter. There are politicians that do take stands, but they do better in smaller constituencies. When running for national office, it seems that you can't be too extreme. Based on what John Lott said, I don't think a libertarian has a chance at the national level. May be there needs to be a party that encompasses libertarian and conservative (classical liberal) ideals. The republican party used to fill this, but they have shifted left in the last 8 years to the point that republicans are what democrats used to be. Sometimes I wish we could start all over again.

I'm thinking that I better stay out of politically charged threads. I don't know who I will vote for yet, just for the record.

The quote above is wrong on so many levels that are offensive. I was born in Samoa, both parents caucasians that had only been there about a year and a half. I don't even have the 1/2 polynesian genetics like Obama has black.

But I still have a lot of polynesian culture that has deep meaning to me.

So I guess it could be said that "IT SEEMS THAT my ONLY Samoan CONNECTION WAS THAT my white FATHER GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT."

So I guess all the Samoan culture that I have been drawn to all my life doesn't count.

I'll stay out of the politically charged threads now, but that statement was so devoid of reality that I responded. [/quote:medrltyw]

It's worse than that. It's as if the Sox and the Yankees "fixed" all the games in advance, and then hired the Mafia to smear any other team that tried to get into the league.

We have a three part government for a good reason. With only two, collusion is too simple. With three it's ten times as difficult.

The same thing applies to political parties. Without a third strong party to see what goes on behind all those closed doors, the two "majors" keep everything tied up to suit them.

Oh they've got their fights and differences, sure, but their most important objective is the one they put most of their efforts into, and it's the one they share: staying in power. Winning the Whitehouse is only a close second. Winning Congress a distant third.

Keeping the country divided up between them, and keeping everybody else out of the game, is their foremost task.

There is an agenda behind Obama, and it's a shell game to keep us from the full story. If it was simply race, I believe it would be more out in the open. I totally agree with CaddmanQ. We need a third party to keep the other two in check. I switched from the Democratic Party in the early '90's, because I felt a disconnect there. Now I have the same feeling with both parties. Maybe I'll be a Pedestrian .

I'm going for a ride before they take that away from me too.

I spent two weeks at the Trade Center site. The first week was in November 2001 and the second in January of 2002. Pictures can't relate what happened there. 16 acres of total destruction and carnage. I'm not very pleased with our present leadership but we can all rejoice that 9/11 hasn't happened again. We need leadership with backbone who will take a stand and not give in to the political pundits. I agree that we need a strong third party to keep the other two in check. It amazes me that money is no object in helping strangers overseas but we can't find the money to build levees to protect our own citizens from killer hurricanes. Something's wrong with that picture.
