WARNING for Edmonton
Just found out that Echo Cycle of Edmonton is closing it's doors. The really bad part of this, my ride is in their building for winter storage and no body is answering the phones. Going there in the morning to see if I can find someone.

Facebook page was last updated March first, and their website does not work anymore. I made a few phone calls and it seems they liquidated their inventory last week.

Well I finally got a hold of someone at Echo cycle this morning 9:05, who assures me they are still open for business and my ride will be ready at the end of April. Now all I need to do is decide if I should wait till then or risk bringing it home.(Still winter here)

I would take it out of their and put it in a storage facility. Better safe than sorry.

What he said. They are too unstable. Last thing you want is your scoot locked up in a bankruptcy case. Like a building landlord holding contents for ransom or something similar. Grab it and run.

Ya I'd definitely get it out of there. Another 6 weeks is a long time to leave it in an uncertain situation. On a separate note, I stored our bikes at a sketchy little bike shop west of town 10 years ago. I was scheduled to take it in the next winter but they had a fire a couple weeks before that. Few months later they were open at another location and yup another fire. That would have been a shit show getting any cash out of them

Quick update. Went to Echo this afternoon(seeing is believing) they are still open for business. The info I received last night on liquidating was not up to par. They moved out all of their new stock to other dealers in the area. The business has been up for sale for the last 2 years with no takers (owner wants to retire). The service dept. is still open along with the parts dept. the only motorcycles left are the used ones they took in trade and a few of last years Triumphs.
I appreciate every ones responses and thoughts, but I think I'm going to leave it there till I'm ready to ride unless something comes up that changes that. |
