First Nomad trip
This coming Thursday, I'm meeting a bunch of other folks (10 total bikes and 14 people) in central Wisconsin (Stetsonville,WI) and we are going on a little trip down to Anamosa, IA. On the way down, stopping at Harley in Black River Falls, Lunch in Prairie du Chien, visiting Pike Peak State Park. Staying over in Mt. Vernon Thursday and Friday Night. Going to visit the National Motorcycle Museum and J&P Cycles in Anamosa. Friday looking a day trip somewhere in Iowa. Saturday, head down/over to Davenport to stop at a Harley dealership, and then work our way up the Great River Road (Wis 35 along the Mississipi) to La Crosse. Sunday Morning, head back home. Group consists of some Harleys, my father law has a 08 Vulcan Custom 900, and my Nomad. Maybe some other brands, but I'm not sure who all is going and what they ride.
Looking forward to my first overnight trip on a Nomad. (First on a motorcycle as well). I did a bunch of reading on the forum and got a bunch of ideas of essentials to pack in the bags. I also picked up a nice Saddleman sissybar bag for cloths and such. Looking forward to the trip!

I remember my first trip I think I packed enough crap for a month. I found out real quick.... you really don't need that much and what you forget you can buy.
Have fun and be safe.

So far so Good! Hit a bunch of rain Thursday Morning between Stetsonville and Prairie du Chien, WI. Sun and dry after that. Visited Pikes Peak State Park on the way down. 280 miles the first day. Had nice easy second day around Anamosa and Cedar Rapids Iowa. Visited J&P cycles and the National Motorcycle Museum along with the Amana Colonies and Metro Harley in Cedar Rapids. Only 80 miles on Friday. Yesterday was a long day of riding, about 240ish. Mount Vernon,Iowa to Savannah Illinois, then up to Spook Cave in McGregor ,Iowa, via routes through Illinois and Wisconsin. Did the cave tour then jumped back on the bikes and rode 35 (the great river road) between Prairie du Chien to La Crosse. Spent the night in La Crosse. Today we are heading home!
The Nomad has been great so far! The trip makes me want to get some more upgrades! Exhaust, intake, fuel processor, riding lights, luggage rack, kuryakyn grips, and more. Haha. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I got home yesterday afternoon! Total of about 840 miles, depending on who's motorcycle you look at! Trip was great! Had a lot of fun! Look forward to some mods to the Nomad to make it a little sweeter!
