Tire Info
I've been round and round on this issue for 2 weeks. (See my thread on the E-3s) I've spoken to Dunlop HQ and my dealer a lot. The 880s worry me b/c of all the problems i've heard about them. My dealer told me today Metzler had a bad batch of subcontracted rubber sent to them. They may have it fixed but i don't want to be a test case.
The E-3s don't have a stock size for rear of my 2010 Nomad. Dunlop HQ was adamant about not using them on my bike. They recommended the 404 on front and the K555 on rear. Sooooooo, i researched those tires and they had some poor reviews. Finally decided (although i don't like the OEM tires) to give the B-Stone Exedra Max a shot. Dealer said they had sold several and folks liked them. Claim to be a BIG improvement over stock OEM. We'll see. I was told the Commander II (Michelin) will be out in January 2012. Hope this input helps. |

re: Rear tire on Front
I recall threads in the darkside folder about mounting a rear tire on the front but reversing the rotation arrow. On return from my 4000 mile vacation ride I see it is time for new rubber up front. I replaced the rear tire before my vacation (from Continental Vanco car tire back to MC tire due to time constraints of finding a shop to mount it). I'm going to have a radial mounted when time allows; but that will likely be a couple months out.
My question: Is there a safety issue with running the same size MC tire front and back, until I can go back to a CT on the rear? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I don't know what you're riding, but the 1500 Nomads had a 150/80/16 both front and rear from the factory.
That should answer your question.

There are a few members on here that run a 150/80/16 both front and rear on a 1600 Nomad.
