Air intake style
Looking at air intake style and model... does the spike tornado gives you better performance over any round model due to the air filter orientation ??

I doubt it will have a noticeable effect on performance at all. If anything it will get in the way of your leg while riding. A lot of the aftermarket air filter systems are more for show and many have complained about them being in the way of your natural riding position.

I just went to a spike style intake( without the ugly spike tip) just a K&N cone type filter with a filter wrap .
http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...prod=RU-0510PK Not in the way of my leg whatsoever. Performance wise there is no difference from the plain open round filter. The benefit is that you don't get so much intake noise since it points forward .

Before you buy em. Find a bike that already has them on it to see if you really would like it. Those things are huge. Pictures don't do them justice. Plus they protrude out quite a bite from the side of the bike. When you ride , you'll be lookin like your trying to air dry your balls.

Unless you have one, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. They don't stick out any farther than the open type filters.

I second the thought that the performance won't vary much with style if at all. To me, all the mods are vanity anyhow - at least all mine are ;)
I did have the hypercharger on my '05 Nomad, and it did force my knee out quite a bit. Even that wasn't an issue any more than just getting used to it. The moral of my story is, do whatever makes the bike look the way you want it to look, because that's how you'll love it the most.

That's not the same as the ones for the Nomad. Those look like Suzukis to me. So you still don't know what you're talking about....

They don't make one that specifically fits the nomad. I'm surprised a smart fellow like you hasn't figured out why

I tried the hypercharger, stuck out too far, then went to the alley kat, looks good and fits nice.

The thunder tornado kit fit great. It does not get in the way when installed. I've had mine since the bike was new. As for performance I would agree with everyone else and say there is probably no real difference.
