Help have Gas Smell in Garage

Started the Nomad (had not been started for about 2 weeks family problems) let it run until I thought everything was warmed up good and shut it down this morning when I opened the garage strong smell of gas could not find any leaks I thought I might have shut it down before it got warm enough so I took it for a 15 mile ride came back everything seemed fine just went back in garage and yep gas smell where do I start looking the tank was full it has about 23 mile on the tank of gas.

Is there gas on the floor from the tank vent ? If it was hot out and I had filled the tank just before I got home I sometimes used to smell gas from my 05 Nomad.

After that I stopped filling the tank just before I got home and filled up on my next journey outbound.

What is the air temperature in your area these days? If you filled the tank when it was cold and the gas was cold in the ground, it is possible to get a little too much in the tank and then when you run the engine long enough and warm the fuel in the tank it will expand and leak some out the over flow. Doesn't take much for a gas smell.

I figure it the overflow as well, especially since you said it had a full tank.

It may be , do not see any on the floor I will check it out closer tommorow it sets on a floor mat so I will have to move it over concrete and see if I can see a leak run it a little and see what it does the temp is about the same as when I put the gas in mid 60s this is the first time I have had fumes in the garage from the bike.

I was going to suggest that having a full tank would contribute to the leak,..... and I'd almost guarantee the gas is coming out the overflow tube. I had the same issue with a full tank when I put my bike away for the season.
Toss a rag under the bike and you'll see or be able to smell the gas on the rag. good luck...I hope it's nothing worse than that.

By my count you have 4 at least. battery and overflow tank just in front of the swing arm and I can't remember if there is a third one there for the tank. But up front there are 2 more. On the right a weeping hose for the water pump and up front on the left following the down tube is a hose that comes from the tank.
Are you still smelling gas? Maybe it has stopped and evaporated on the hose it came from but still the smell is lingering from were it peed. Or maybe it was something else in the garage?

Maybe you have the gas cap leak problem some of us have had.
Disassemble the back side of the gas cap...clean the rubber gasket.
See if that helps
