Question HID Headlight. Anyone have one installed?

Greetings Group: Just wondering if anyone has installed a HID kit on a Nad? I have a 2002FI 1500. Space it TIGHT to say the least. I have my left side cover full to the brim. Do they provide that much more light? Use less energy? What brand and how bright should I get? Where do I get it and how much should I pay? How long to they last? Whats involved in the install? Getting cold here and I need a little project to keep me busy. Zoooom!

Ra

I haven't yet, but plenty others have. Do a search for it. They put out a LOT more light and use less energy. I am planning on buying from DDM Tuning (google it for the site), they have the best prices I have found and good reviews too. If you get a small enough ballast, you should be able to install it all within the headlight assembly.

Spoon thanks for the reply. I see you are in MD. Thats not too far at all. Might be an excuse for a double install and a little ride!

If budget is not a problem, take a look on LED headlights and passing lights as well. They are great!

The only problem with LED still a bit costly and it requires an adapter in order to fit the Vulcan as they are made primarily to fit Harleys.

HID is certainly brighter than stock but Vulcan reflectors are not designed for it causing erratic light dispersion and unwanted glare that could blind other drivers plus the cheaper HID kits won't last long.

By the way, here is guy that installed one in a Nomad but he had to make some changes in the stock mirror:

However looks like this adaptercan be used making the mod very easy:
