I worked for a Mercedes dealership as a mechanic in Africa before coming to this United States of America 23 ½ yrs ago. I went to college for 2 more years in automotive training when I got here. Started framing houses and laying carpet after college. I then worked at the wastewater treatment plant for the city I leave in for two years. When an opening came about in the vehicle maintenance department I applied and was able to switch departments. I have been in that department for 11yrs now.
I am a very proud American citizen now but I am originally from Ethiopia!

My jobs have always been truck or heavy equipment related. I worked for a crane and rigging company for many years until I started a gig twelve years ago hauling compressed gasses, mostly hydrogen to power-plants scattered around the central part of the country. I'm on the road during the week but usually home on the weekends.
Before I started with my present job, the company I worked for offered me a chance to finally get a office job working 40 hours a week, nice office, wearing spiffy clothes to work, expense account, yada, yada. I lasted two weeks,, lol.. |

i started out by working construction for family during school. hauled hay, delivered pizzas, stocked shelves in a grocery store and worked in a stop and go store during high school. went to work for a large electrical contractor as an apprentice for about a year. worked in a pawn shop for about 2 years. worked in a cabinet shop for a year or so then went to police academy in 1994. started working for the Sheriff's office in 1995 and delivered pizzas on the side. after about 5 years at the SO i went to work for a municipal police and have been there since january of 2000. in 2008 i purchased an automotive repair business even though im not a mechanic. (long story) i couldnt run the business and work 40 plus hours at the police department so i sold it after about a year and a half.
