Waving Need help with a wobble?

Yeah when doing slow maneuvers my front end will wobble, almost like a high speed wobble? It is even worse when I have weight on the bike! Any suggestions? oh and it has always done this since I have had it ,2007. with different tires? Thanks, Donnie

donnie. from improperly balanced tires to loose steering head bearings would account to 80% of your problem if not 100%.

Brad ...if the tire pressure remains the same and nothing is done to the steering nut {i.e. tighten, service it} In my case,...why does the wobble come and go ?

Probably Harmonics Ricky. If the balancing is not good front and rear it will cause an out of sync harmonic wobble. Properly balanced tires and a nice greased tight steering head bearing would fix that.

I have a radial truck tire and a avon cobra up front. After the front end maintanence I take take my hands off the bars at any speed even on bad roads and it tracks like the Queen Mary... I had, one time, with stock worn out tires and loose bearings, a gentle head shake coming off the freeway with my hands off the bars at about 40mph. It will shake given the above deficencies.

I used to be able to drive my 05 Nomad hands free with no wobble.

Donnie what tire pressure are you running in the front?
If you remember I was complaining of a similar low speed wobble on the way to Maggie Valley. I did have cupping on that tire and thought it might have be having an effect. The next day I dropped the tire pressure down to 38 from 42 and it seemed to improved quite a bit.

ok , Here it is , Its been this way since I owned it. Different tires , same tire pressure and the wobble is only at low speed Parking Lot maneuvers, 180 degree Tight turns, etc. Not at riding speeds!I am talking very tight turns, like within 2 parking lot spaces! Just a little more info :)

I wouldn't even worry about a wobble like that Donnie, Its the high speed ones that are a serious problem. But check the steering bearings as mentioned, thats probably the best place to start looking.

Bent rim? Front or back, there is as chance it could be less noticable at higher speeds with only a slight bend especially on the rear as you wouldn't feel it so much in the steering. More likely steering head bearings as BD and others have mentioned.

My 07 does that and has from the day I bought it (used). It makes doing parking lot maneuvers interesting;)
