Kawa Voyager 1200 trunk

Any body know anything about these trunks? What's the cutout at the bottom back for? You can't see it very well in this posting but everyone of these I've seen has it.

sarge, I assume you like the look of the Voyager trunk or you would not have got one.

I've been going back and forth between this trunk and an HD trunk. Either an older Razor Tour Pak or the CVO leather covered tour pak. While I don't really like the leather cover I would not have to paint it and it flows with the bike a little better. The older fiberglass Razor HD paks have a slopping lid that looks a little better than the regular HD tour pak. There's some fairly good deals on ebay right now.

I don't really need a trunk just can't leave the Nomad alone for long without modifying something. The Nomad side bags , while I love the look and style, are a PIA to find a truck that really matches the look. I'm diffidently looking for more form than function.

I'd really like to see the Voyager trunk on a Nomad so am looking forward to your pic's. What rack are you using?

sarge, If you don't mind would you provide some dimensions on the Voyager trunk? I'd like to know the base to top of back rest, width and height as well as front to back.
Thanks for your time,

Hey Bubba ... Look at this thread for some good close up pics before paint, after, installed, and even some with measurements.

http://www.vulcanbagger.com/phpBB3/v...start=0#244565

I started to go with this trunk, but ended up getting a mid-80s Yamaha Venture trunk because I thought it matched the curves of the bike better. The Voyager trunk was my 2nd choice ... at least for the price.
