You don't need to make an investment, Im sure KY jelly will work just as well. ;)

I went for an all day ride yesterday and after a while I noticed that the annoying squeek had returned.
This morning I removed the tank again, and tried something different to stop the noise. I cleaned the two saddles where the rubber tank supports go and lined them with the fuzzy side of a Velcro fastener. I glued in the strips with contact cement. I put the tank back on and so far the trip to work has been without the constant chirping. Lets see how long this one lasts.

I used to notice annoying squeaks all the time. But since I started using Viagra I don't notice squeaks anymore.

Seriously, way to hang in there Ringadingh.
