Homemade trailer progress (08/09/08)
CJ;
Looks like the Hoppy has some sort of "loop" on the side as part of the plastic housing for it. If one is on the other side; it would look like that would be an option for mounting. Maybe use some thin metal band the goes over the top of the Hoppy and down each side through the "loops" -- bend it flat to the hitch and screw-mount it. (Not easy to describe -- I know) I am sure you will figure it out though given all you have been able to do so far. Thanks for keeping us updated on this and the other ideas/projects you do.

Today's progress update Disassembled the trailer and cut about 2-1/4" off of each end of the 3 crossmembers, to decrease the width of the trailer by about 4-1/2". No pictures today, not much to show. I am reassembling the trailer, then it will be time to start installing the LED lights and mount the deck. I'll still have to get the axle shortened by 4-1/2". I'll have to contract that work out to a welding shop.

Looks good. I have to admit, when you all share info on how-to-do things, you are very explicit and detailed. Easy to follow and do.
Not sure if I want to pull a trailer with my bike though. What's it like? |

What's it like to pull a trailer? I couldn't tell you. Haven't tried yet. I'll be testing it after I get the trailer put back together.

CJ, if you do a cross over of the zip ties, the connection will stay in place better. Go to Home Depot and get some long zip ties. Everything else looks good.
