Charging question
Changed the oil on my bike yesterday and let it idle for a bit before rechecking it. Then this morning battery seemed kinda low.
Just wanted to verify that this is due to it being at idle instead of me out riding Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Charging question
How old it the battery, 3-4 years is pretty common for the normal bike battery. Some people get more than that.

Charging question
Original from 1994? The battery has been great if that is so.. but likely nearing the end of it's days now.. I have never known any battery to last that long..

Charging question
Is the battery really 18 years old? I have my doubts. What is very nice to do is drop 17 bux at walleyworld and buy a shumaker auto float charger. It is like a Battery tender just costs 50 bucks less.
Another thing I always do is mount one sort or another of voltmeter hard wired to the bike. The one in the pic is black near the windshield bag with a green screen. It fits any ciggy butt lighter which this one sits in and or any standard 12 volt take off. Since I use a compressor to assit others at large, and I also smoke still, a light socket that can deal in a few amps seemd more fitting for me. ![]() I bought every part at walley world to do this install. The meter is 17 bux I guess and the lighter bracket and wire might have cost 10....

Charging question
What with the upcoming norcal trip and just general reliability in question, I bought a new battery today, Its charging now. Will try to get a actual accurate date on the battery when I take it out. It was more of a WAG or guesstimate on age before...but the case is yellowed with age
