Vaquero accessory jack for Android?

Has anyone bought and used the basic accessory jack for the stero system and used their Android phone. I am wondering how well it works to play music through the stero and also how well it handles the phone GPS prompts. I use my Razor Maxx for everything including streaming Pandora and don't want to buy an ipod.

I have done the same and it works fine, but I added a Bluetooth receiver to the accessory jack and then send the signal from my Android phone to the Bluetooth and that way no long cord extension to my phone is needed.

So you bought the accessory cable and then plugged in a bluetooth receiver? What brand receiver did you buy?

I permanently replaced my ipod shuffle, and the need to charge anything when I get where I am going. If I lose 3g or 4g coverage, I can easily switch to MP3 on my phone...super excited about it...this is my version of the Ford link system lol

used a permanent mini usb charger for the bluetooth adapter, and wired it to the aux power behind the headlight

I now have continuous music/nav!

I ordered a Kuryakyn P clamp, black of course

A Bluetooth receiver that I can plug my stereo adapter (left glove box)

It has a built in battery (not pictured above), but also has a USB power cord

I have a car charger for my phone that has a USB power port in addition to the charger for the phone

I use the OTTERBOX Defender Series case for my phone, and it came with a sturdy plastic holster and belt clip.

I have removed the belt clip with a small screwdriver and pliers

I am going to use the P clamp to mount my holster between the risers on my vaquero (long ways)

This way I can charge my phone, and supply continuous power to my Bluetooth adapter for Google Maps Navigation, Pandora, and MP3 music via my phone, wireless! Should have all the parts this week…Will update this thread with detailed instructions and pics when I am done!

I used the same setup as Element80, and it works great with my Android Phone and my Vaquero sound system.

See the pics that he posted, basically the same as mine except for model of phone.
