What is the trick?

I have to remove 1 of the strips on the saddle bags.. Cover caught it in the wind and kinked it.. I hate a Kinky Strip ::)

I may remove them all and do the chrome strip thing on Gadgets page

Thanks

What is the trick?

Heat it up with a heat gun very very gently, it will soften the adhesive. Just be carefull of how close you hold it so you don't ruin the paint. It should start lifting off.

If you have to remove one, consider it ruined. Either replace it for $45 or remove all of them and replace with $20 of chrome adhesive trim.

I took mine off and I think it looks better. No matter what you put on there it's still going to look like plastic chrome. (And thats the view from here)

What is the trick?

I would leave them off for awhile, and then decide whether to replace them. JMO

What is the trick?

I saw a couple pics of a bike (Utahrider?) with the strips removed, slots filled in and smoothed. Awesome look.

Rich the same thing happened to mine so I took them off and used goo gone to remove the glue. I think it looks better with out them. If you use a hair dryer and an old credit card after you get the strip off you can remove the large parts of glue left behind with out scratching the paint.
