All we can hope for is the Judge to sentence her the maximum of 1 year for each count of lying to investigators. Caley gets no justice.

The whole situation is nothing short of tragic. The family is quite a mess, no doubt, and my heart aches for that little girl. But the bottom line is: the prosecution couldn't present enough evidence to prove Casey killed her daughter. All they could really prove is that someone killed her. Still, yet another shining example how of flawed our "justice" system is.

The prosecution didn't have enough evidence to get a murder conviction. That's how it goes. I wouldn't be surprised if on Thursday the judge sentences her to "time already served" and she goes free. Like it or not, the prosecution had their shot and failed.

She has already been in jail for about 3 years I think. Even if she is sentenced to max on the guilty charges she will only serve 1 more year, so I agree with you. Good chance of her walking away from this.

The prosecution dropped the ball. If they would have charged her with negligent homicide after investigation all other avenues her lying about the whereabouts of her daughter and death and not filing a report for over a month would have landed her a good stint in prison.

Unfortunately they couldn't even prove that.

I don't know if they got it right or wrong by what the prosecution presented. Why? I didn't listen to what they presented. I do know this, she will get her just rewards eventually.

Somebody killed her. She didn't crawl in that bag and plant herself in the woods. If she accidentaly drowned in the grandparents pool, why go out of your way to make it look like a murder and dump the body 1/4 mile from the house. I always felt that Casey OD'd her on chloroform and found her dead on the backseat of the car after an all night party. She couldn't admit to that so she or one of her boyfriends dumped that poor little girl in the swamp to make it look like a kidnapping/murder. How do you go 31 days with a child missing and don't report it? Too many unanswered questions and they all point to Casey. But, she had a good enough attorney to present reasonable doubt. She will run her mouth to the wrong "friend" one day and we will all find out what happened. Too bad double jeapordy would keep her from being prosecuted again. Brings back memories of the OJ trial IMO.

The jury is right, they heard all the evidence and looked at the faces.

I tend to agree. And, I said the same thing in the OJ case.

You're probably right Mitch, but the prosecution blew it. In a way, I'm grateful that I didn't serve on that jury, as I tend to lean toward the scenario you describe as what may very well have happened, but proving it beyond a reasonable doubt? I don't thing they even came close. In another instance involving a pastor who was...shall we say...less than Godly (and less than legal) I've been in a position before where I had suspicions, but without any proof, it was really not my place to level accusations. A few years later, it all came out and my suspicions were all completely justified. However, I know that I did the right thing by not making accusations that were unsupported by facts. If I had done so and been wrong, it would have been devastating for several people. Including me.

I don't know if Casey killed Caylee or not. All that I do know is that someone killed her. The prosecution couldn't and didn't prove that Casey killed her. She probably did but that is water under the bridge now. She will get what is coming to her one day.
