05 1600 Starts fine but bogs or dies

Sat outside in the rain all day then in the garage over night. When I went to go home the next day it started right up and idles fine. First gear was normal but as soon as I hit second it bogged down spitted and sputtered then took off like it had turbo. Parked it overnight again put drygas in it sprayed the wires with wd-40 and still doing it. Any ideals or help would be great.

Sounds like moisture in it somewhere.

Put a fan on it when it's in the garage and park it in the hot sun if you can and keep the fan on it .

The more fans the better.

Is there anything I can dry out. I've got 32,000 miles on it and I've power washed it with little problems but normally I drive it right away after getting wet.

If the bike idles okay I would start it up and let it run for 5 to 10 minutes and get the engine hot enough so it will help with the drying process.

I've driven it around the side streets here in first it just doesn't seam to do any better. When I first start it and let it idle for a few minutes then take off it runs fine when I shift into second for about an 1/8 mile then thats when it starts popping

Anytime you have trouble starting your bike when it has been wet it is time to replace the spark plug caps. I checked mine and they checked at 4500 ohms, they usually replace them at about 7 or 8000 ohms. I've noticed mine faltering alittle when leaving the car wash with 51,000 miles on so I think I will replace them pretty soon. My 750 Honda got so bad before I figured it out that I could not even ride in the rain. --- anyway thats been my experience, hope that helps.

Do you have a fuel processor in it? Water could have gotten in it and screwed up the electronics.

Check the wires that clip on to the ignition coils, a loose connection will cause the bike to stumble and miss intermittenly.

Changed the plugs, took out the air filter, put drygas in the tank, checked all the connections and sprayed all the wires with wd-40. Took it for a short ride and much better did it once or twice but started raining again so I'll try again later.

If it did better, you must be on the right track. I would check connections again. I know WD40 displaces water, but personally I would wipe off as much as I could. Put some fans on it. I would look at plug caps, coil caps, and blow air on every switch. I noticed you power washed without much problems. I think the not much problem has reappeared. Keep blowing air at it. Good luck.
