Cobra FI fuel management question
I am looking for the Cobra FI2000 fuel management for my bike.
I found one for sale that fits the V2000LT it's part number 92-1964 I checked Cobra's website for my 2002 Nomad and it only shows the carbed kit? So I am wondering what model anyone that has a Nomad 1500 FI and if anyone knows if the model quoted above will work? I am not sure there any map differences in the 2? or just model identification. The one above is a Cobra FI2000R and a good price. Thanks for the info, if it works out I think I've found one!! Appreciate any info on these units. This one is plug n play also just for info. Scott ???

Cobra FI fuel management question
The Cobra FI2000R is probably the one you will need. Not sure about the part number. Will do some checking and see if I can find anything.

Cobra FI fuel management question
My part number is 92-1963 but mine Nomad is a 2008. Pretty close on the number. You might want to call one of the online parts houses and check just to be on the safe side.

Cobra FI fuel management question
Thanks Gene, I may have to do that, but I'm sure no one to answer my inquiry there (or from Cobra) till next Tuesday. Tomorrow is Sunday and Monday is a holiday in the US? and Canada(family day).
Maybe it's all moot and I'll win that 35 Million tonight ![]() I don't want to check yet and burst my bubble ![]() Scott

I'll try them tomorrow then and see if there open, thanks. A lot of business here are also open Family Day (which is sort of an oxymoron to me) too. Guess it's a quasi holiday ??? Thanks for the info. Still hoping someone that has one chimes in, don't want to keep the seller waiting. Scott

Cobra FI fuel management question
I just went and checked Cobra's website, and for the 1500s they list part # 1962 for the Mean Streak, and for the other 1500s they either list a jet kit or for the fuel injected bikes list part # 1940.

Cobra FI fuel management question
Hey Scott, I have a 2003 1500 and the part number of the Cobra Fi2000 that I have on my bike is Cobra #92-0941. This is the old style that requires the wires to be soldered for the best connection, but does not require the removal of the gas tank. You can find this model on E-Bay for under $160.00 and installation is quite easy.

Cobra FI2000R model. It is the plug n play model which is what I want as I would rather not solder the wires there if I can avoid it (in case I want to put it back stock) I have the original set of mufflers and goats belly for my bike and the gutted ones on it now. If I sell or trade the bike ever I can swap it all back to stock (not that I am planning to). I just don't know for sure if the connectors on the VN2000 and the Nomad fuel injectors are the same? It's a decent buy, and would save me $ to be able to put some more into the intake etc. If I can't verify that I suppose they could be cut off and solder directly, but again I'd rather not do that in this case. Scott

Cobra FI fuel management question
2000 classic calls for the Cobra 92-1964
1500N 00-08 calls for 92-1940 Both of these are the plug and play models. DC

Cobra FI fuel management question
You know... I asked this very same question not too long ago (about the exact same bike I might add) and all I got was "go look it up" or a generic "I have the FI2000R" without the part number, for a different year.
Now I see Scott getting the specific answer he needs. That's great for Scott, but what the h did I do wrong here? :-/ (Congrats Scott - please let me know how this goes for you so I can do the same thing). |

Cobra FI fuel management question

The only difference in the PlugNPlay connection would be the ends if different from different injectors electrical plugs? The California model apparently has the O2 sensor as well as they have stricter emissions on those models. So if the electrical connectors are the same, then any of the FI2000R Cobra units would work, you would just need to download the instructions for the baseline to set it to on initial settings to tune from. That's what I've found SO FAR!!! Still learning curve on this one.!! Scott

Cobra FI fuel management question
I can't tell you whether the injector connectors or units are the same or not.
On my '02 Nomad I used the Cobra FI2000 P/N 92-0941. This unit does not have the plug-ins to connect at the injectors but requires tapping into two wires (blue w/ red stripe & blue w/green stripe) 1" or more from the ECU unit. I did change the connection method and used posi-lock connectors instead of the supplied t-taps which I won't use on anything! http://www.posi-lock.com/ They make for a very simple installation and if you ever decide to remove it, just apply a little liquid tape at the connection site to seal and keep moisture out. Cobra FI fuel management question
Scott, this is the link to the Cobra USA producer of the controllers you are considering.
http://cobrausa.com/fuel_compare.php...ype=Motorcycle Fuel Management&model_id=56 If you check you will see that the model controller you are considering WILL NOT fit any Kawasaki V-Twin other than the VN2000. Even tho the package looks the same and the adjustment system is set up the same they are not electroincally the same internally. If you buy the VN2000 model and then adapt the Injector Conecttions to work then you will need to take the bike to a Chassis Dyno to have it tuned because the settings won't correspond to the model made for your bike. Proper AIR/FUEL mixture may or may not be obtainable with the wrong device installed but you will only know that if you put a sniffer in the tail pipe and dyno it.
