Bobby Trip and Painless had talked about going to Vicksburg but not until Oct. or Nov. so I guess the next trip would be to Nightmares are you going to be able to make that one.

I'll tell ya what, fellas, it's been so danged hot, I'm afraid my tires would melt on a ride. 115 degree heat index is pretty toasty. How have ya'll been holding up this summer ?

It is the same way here Frank I have not had my bike out of the garage since I went to AL in July, now the battery is dead and won't take a charge and it is to hot to work on it. The weather man just said that we have had an extreme heat warning every day for the last
20 days and half of July.

I was close to your area this past weekend, Jim. i was in Ruston, LA. Went by car on Friday. Everyday it was 102,103. I'm like you. I haven't been out much at all, if any. I hope this mess cools down soon. I'm getting cabin fever !!

I ride every day if it's not a threat of bad thunderstorms. I have to go to the Coast for work this week. I would take the bike but it's 40% or better chance for thunderstorms every day. I don't mind the rain so much but the people in cars are the problem when it rains.

Hey, Bobby, I saw today where that tropical depression, TD 5, was reforming off the coast of Alabama, and will head west into Louisiana. Should cleared out by Thursday or Friday for a more stable weekend.

I hope it does clear up this week. I'm tired of all this rain. I don't mind it being so hot. I like that better than freezing cold weather.

I was in Houston last week and I think it was more humid there than it is here at home in Houma. I didn't think that was possible. I'll be going to Shreveport at the end of this week, and I hope its a little cooler up there.

Don't bet on it Kip. It's been hotter in Shreveport than it has been down here.

I know it's been hot everywhere.....here in East Texas it's been unusually hot... 102 - 103 everyday. August for us is usually that way, but not for 2-3 weeks in a row. Like Oldbikers, my steed has sat in the garage for over 3 weeks....just don't have the initiative to ride with the heat.

Last Friday I was running some errands in my corvette and the A/C quit. Started blowing hot air. I immediately turned it off and took it to my mechanic yesterday. All day I was thinking the compressor and Lord knows what else had to be replaced. My mindset was 1200.00-1600.00 dollars...... I wasn't happy.

Then they called and said all I needed was some freon. There is a small leak and the system quit when the freon level got too low. They added dye but couldn't find the leak. At any rate, I got out of there for 87.00.

Am I living right? ... probably not.... but a blind squirrel does find an acorn every once in a while.

Trip, There is a low suction pressure switch that shuts down the compressor when the pressure reaches the trip point. If you are low on freon, the suction pressure remains below the setpoint of the switch and keeps the compressor from starting. Your leak is probably in the evaporator core.

Bobby, I'm in McComb and regardless of the heat or afternoon showers, I'm ready to go to Vicksburg! We could meet at McDonald's in Crystal Springs, take 27 to Utica and take the backroad to the Crossroads and come in to I-20 and Vicksburg that way. Name the day and I'll see if we can't make it happen.
