Rear brake pads
Where is the best deal on rear brake pads? I just changed my rear tire and found I need new pads too. They are getting pretty thin.

Check some of the online shops or Ebay for best price. You can also go with aftermarket such as EBC or DB. I find the EBC pads are a lot cheaper and work as good, but make a slight buzzing sound when applied.
I just priced the OEM pads here yesterday and they are $104.00 a set . EBC are about $50.00 a set. I went with the EBC.

The rear pads are kinda thin to start with. They are not as thick as the front pads. How many miles on your rear pads?

46,000 on this set. They were Ferodo Platinum pads.

That's pretty good mileage for brake pads.

Ive never heard of Ferodo pads, but that is great mileage on them. I seem to get 20,000 miles on each set of EBC pads Ive installed.
My front pads are oem and stil the originals at 70,000 miles, I already have EBC pads in stock to replace them with.

Ferodo is an English company. Anyone from there (like me) has heard of Ferodo. They make brake pads, clutches etc.

After the last install, I stopped breaking so heavy on the rear too. Now I'm almost exclusively front brakes.

There may be some increased rear pad wear if you use the "Ride Like A Pro" method when doing sharp, slow turns or creeping along in traffic. JM2C

Rear brake pads
Just got my new EBC FA85HH rear brake pads in from Ebay. Had to pay a total of $3.99 for them and they were in the original package. I found them by searching the part number and was the only one that bid on them.

Bobby, be a little carefull, EBC FA85HH pads are kind of a generic designation and you need a "for model" designation and a "front or rear" designation to get the one for our bikes. You might of got a great deal but you might also have EBC FA85HH pads for the front or rear of any KZ or Z or VN designated model from Kawasaki. Here's a link to a outfit that makes organic, sintered bronze metalic and ceramic material pads that are suitable replacements for the EBC FA85HH models for our 1500 and 1600 Nomads.

The guy had a list of the model numbers on the auction. I put them on tonight and they fit perfectly.

Rear brake pads
I buy my brakepads at the local dealer , I have'nt seen much differance in the price so far around here so i just buy them there ,and they keep them in stock so i don't have to wait for them to get delivered , but thats just my thoughts.

Rear brake pads
on the topic of brake pads. I have been trying to find back brakes for my 2000 nomad and I can not find the right ones at a dealer. They all have the same set and they not even close to the right thing. All I get is that is what the book said. I show them the ones I have and they say these are what you should need. Anyone know if there was more than 1 kind of brake on a 2000 Nomad?
