Paint Match

I have an '05 'Nad, ebony black/ silver. I want to match the ebony black and can't find a manufacturers color code. So far it seems they don't provide that info. Does anyone have the code?
The "color-rite" website has a color code number of 607 but it doesn't cross. Their website the 06's and 07's are painted the same ebony black. Any help/advice will be appreciated.

I don't know if the Ebony Black on the 2 tone bikes is the same as my 06 Nomad. I found the HD Vivid Black was a near perfect match though and that's what I painted the fairing with. You may be able to get a touch up stick at a Harley dealer to test that out and it would come in handy anyway.

Good catch Ely. I looked at that for the 2006 but that stuff is expensive.

Color rite is about the only source. I know Kawasaki doesn't even provide a touch up paint. I was given an 800 number for color rite and it is expensive.

Kaw has been using the same two blacks (Ebony or Diablo black) for a while. My 07 is Ebony Black and Metalic Titanium. I found that Dupli-Color Universal Black (usually described as High Gloss also) matchs my black. I have been using The Dupli-Color Universal Black touch up paint on my bike panels and it matchs.

I had a fairing for a while and it was painted with the Dupli-Color Universal Black and it looked identical to the rest of my black panels. You all need to make your own decision but at about 1/4 the cost of the Color Rite stuff I think you might want to consider this alternative. And you can get it at any Walmart!

In a lot of cases the bike colors are a direct match to automotive paint. For cost effectiveness, that's what Kawi and others are probably doing. My '03 white and silver Vol had paint that was a direct match to Toyota paint codes. Go figure.

On my '06 Nad, I cannot see the color difference at all between the HD PPG Vivid Black and the stock color and that paint is readily available at a "substantial" savings.

By the way, thanks Trosco, you posted so close I missed it before I pulled the trigger. I will check that out for touch up and add-ons.

Paint Match

I have a 03 that is gold and candy apple red. I love the depth that the paint appearance has and i just got my batwing fairing yesterday and looking forward to painting it to match? going to bring it to a local body shop and hope they can match it. I have had many compliments on the red hell even harley owners have commented on the paint quality of Kawasaki!
