New Triumph 750 In The Crate

It seems there are still a few bikes to be found if you know where to look. This one sold on Ebay a couple weeks ago.

That is amazing. I remember the Triumph Bonneville being a very popular bike in the 70's.

It cost the purchaser quite a bit. Not sure how much it would be worth should he decide to sell. I guess if it was what he wanted it is a good buy.

I think that was a fair price for it, I doubt you could restore a bike like that to like new condition for that price.

What, no warranty? :) Those bikes weren't the best then, and would be a chore to keep running I would think. I bet it will be a museum/collector's piece.

I had 650 bonnies a plenty, many before I was 12.. Most were barn dust collectors, and some never ran again. Later I had BSA, better 650 bonnies, but never a factory 750 twin. I have one Royal Enfield fairly new, and that Trident with less than 4,000 miles on it when I came by that.

The first Jap bike I ever had is my Liberty bike. I had 2 real cast iron hardleys too, bith at 200 bucks bought and paid for. The old flat black and beat up bad type, the Ratters....

Those ran sort of.. I would always head out going up hill, so when they quit I didn't need to push much.

At this point I'ld like a 650 twin to project with and make it run, looking like it needs more parts to run at all. A xs 650 yammi might get that if i can find one and money at the same time.

Didn't BSA use the same twin as the triumph? I work with a guy that has a Royal Enfield. That bike requires a lot of maintenance, at least compared to our bikes. As for a 650, if you ever see a Kawasaki W650 from about 10 years ago, buy it, They are neat bikes.

My dad had a 1953 Triumph Tiger 500. He said they were quite the bike then. My first bike was a 1978 Kz1000. Wish I still had it.

My pal has a 1968 Bonneville and when he use to ride it on a trip his buddies would let him lead so they could follow and pick up the parts as they fell off. ( no Joke) They were the bikes of the day, but knowhere near as good as the bikes we have now.
A lot of guys today wouldn't be able to start an old bike with the kick start, carb ticklers, & chokes. They were very finicky and if you didn't get it running within a couple kicks you usually flooded it and either had to wait, pull the plugs or push start.
