Nomad down, need parts
E...Dang, sorry to hear of your crash. Fortunately, you are not hurt. The bike can be fixed. You can buy OEM parts from Cheap Cycle Parts, Ron Ayers, Bike Bandit. There are probably others. These vendors are all stateside, but you being close to the border, have them shipped to an address across the line closeby and go pick them up. Thats what i do, unless they can be sent mail. Do not ship from the USA via UPS or any other companys like that who ship into Canada. Brokerage and other fees they invent will add considerable amounts to the purchase price. Besides the dealers here in Canada, I don't know of others that sell OEM stuff. Hope you get her fixed soon. :)
Mike

Elvis.....Ouch! I feel your pain....emotionally anyways. Glad you were not hurt though...could have been worse. That's my one fear, especially on long trips. There you are...miles from anywhere and a deer forces you off the road or you just hit some knarly gravel and down you go. Bike messed up....a million miles from home....I shudder to think about it, so I don't....
Sounds like an easy, albeit expensive job to put her back together. If you want to have parts shipped to my place here in Everett you are sure welcome to, then come down and pick them up at your leisure. With the riding season upon us, I'm sure you are chomping at the bit to make it happen. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Any dealer in Canada should be able to fix you up as well.
If you order from the states, make sure they ship parcel post (USPS) only. Or you will get a shipping charge that will make your eyes bulge, as well as having to pay the GST & PST.

Thanks Kris, et al.,
I went to local Kawi shop after work and everything I need could be delivered in 4 business days, except the bag cover would take 2 weeks [will come from Japan]. It's gonna be an expensive fix for sure but I'm currently trying to get over the emotional part of the deal. Unlike yesterday we had a gorgeous day today and I ask myself why the hell I took the bike out yesterday and especially on the way home, it was awful..... Will keep you posted, Be safe! Good to hear your alright, my guts doing flip flops just thinking about how you must feel.
There are always the what if's... if only's... I should have's... but if you live life that way you won't be living life. Gotta do what you feel like doing at the time, what happens, happens. Isn't this what insurance is for?

Sorry to hear about the accident Elvis; could have been worse and you are not hurt. I know what you mean about the emotional thing - seeing your baby laying on the pavement is not good.
The saddlebag lid will be the most expensive since a whole saddle bag in Canada is over $1800.00. You could try a place called Destination Cycles in Airdrie, talk to Barry or Josh and tell them I said to phone (tell them CycleCat or Catherine). Barry is the owner, Josh is his son, and they are both really good men to deal with. They have gotten me OEM parts cheaper and faster than a dealer; don't know where they buy from or how they get OEM parts but they have for me so they might be able to help you out. |

Jeeze E !! Sorry to hear about the accident. I've been at the cabin the last few days and didn't know till tonight, the 12th. Glad you're OK. I know the feeling to see "the baby" scratched up.
If you decide to order from the States get hold of me. My email addy is in my personal info.. I have a place around Mt. Baker and I'm across the line quite often on the weekends. I can't guarantee I'll be going every weekend but if you want to have some things shipped, and then have me bring them across the line.?.......I don't mind.
