Bye-Bye to the Nomad

Gentlemen:

Just wanted to let you know that I finally got my Nomad sold to a nice fellow in Utah. He has been away from motorcycles for awhile, and seems very pleased with the bike.

The reason I chose the Nomad above other possibilities was from what I seen/heard/learned on KawaNOW. The main reason for selling it was because I've been bitten by the off-road riding bug, I guess, and at this point, don't want to have two bikes in the garage as it's a challenge to find the time to ride even one.

Given the amount of research invested into what bike to buy, and the many many hours put into installing accessories and performing modifications, I would not have thought that not even a year and a half later, I would be putting it up for sale.

I would not have gotten the enjoyment out of the bike I had, if it were not for all the help I have recieved from so many on this site- too many folks to mention!

Not really sure what the next bike will be. It may be a super-light 2-stroke from KTM that I have to haul everywhere I want to ride, it may be some antiquated, heavy, street-legal dual purpose 4-stroke putt-putt from Kawasaki's line-up- just not sure yet. Maybe this is all just part of a mid-life crisis.

In retrospect, it may have been more fiscally responsible to just take some off-road riding lessons from Dan Lund, and keep the Nomad.... :)

A very special thanks to all those I have came in contact with, and ride safe.

:'( :-/ :-[

Bill,
Don't be apologetic in any way shape or form. Follow your <s>dream</s>....errrr......mid-life crisis.....or whatever it is that floats your boat... . Bikes come and go....the important thing is that you live each day to the fullest, however you see fit to do so.

I've enjoyed your posts and trading the PM's. I wish you nothing but good things in whatever you pursue. Drop in here once and awhile to let us know how things are going. And lastly....make sure you post a video when you ride that "scary trail".... !

Best Wishes......Kris

Whatever you buy Bill... it had better not EVER be a Harley after all the grief you gave me all this time!!!!

Hang around and let us know what you end-up with.

Well Bill, I hope you find whatever it is you're looking for. Your Nomad was real sharp looking. I guess I need to find another riding buddy.

What am I ???? Chopped liver Scott?

Really Bill, best wishes in everything you do in life. I've wondered if I want a new ride or take up a different hobby completely and dump the Nomad. I'll take the ride to Custer with me to the grave!

Most of all, have fun!

Bill, best wishes on your new bike search. It was nice connecting with a former North Dakota resident like you. It's funny how much people have in common, and how the world really isn't that big. Keep us posted on what bike you add to the garage.

In all fairness, Bill lives 25 miles away from me.

KLR 650. A foot in each world. Had a bud that would ride his three hours to go fishing down the beach.
