Daylight Savings!

Daylight Savings starts in a couple weeks on March 14th for most of the country, except CJs neck of the woods. And I don't blame the folks in Arizona, they see enough sunshine.... In the years past, I haven't been too excited about it when it comes around. Mostly because I work outside a lot during the summer and can't wait for night to get here. Plus I usually don't stay up very late during standard time. If it gets dark at 5:00 to 5:30, I'm usually in bed by 9:30 or 10:00. But since I got my bike last year and started riding, I really love those long days. It may not get dark til almost 9:00. I still ride plenty at nighttime, but most of my friends I ride with think they have to get home before it gets dark, with all the deer running around down here and just scared of the dark in general, I guess. I've had some close calls myself with 'em. Can't wait for March 14th to get here. Supposed to be sunny and 65 this weekend. Ready to ride. Jamie

Daylight Savings!

Can't argue there. It's been damn cold, rainy and snowy here. Sand on the streets from the last ice build up should be gone by now. This past weekend Ann and I had a great 250 jaunt out into the dirt farms that make up the area around here. Regardless of scenery, it was good to get the bikes out.

And of course, there's always pie at the end of the ride.

Riding season is upon us, Ladies and Gents..

I love daylight savings! I seems to be a lot more active when the sun is out and it's warm.

Personally I wish they would just split the difference and call it good year round. I do like the longer evenings however.

Jamie, I do enjoy the longer daylight hours when daylight savings time begins. It is just one of the ways our fearless leaders control us though. See my post 545 vs. 300,000,000 and you will see what I mean. President, Senate and Congress just want to control every darn thing, even our daylight and night time.

For "us" in Northern Illinois (the snow-belt); warmer weather and more daylight couldn't come too fast.

It's has been a long winter.

Riding is just around the corner now!

So far, here in Mississippi we've had our 3rd coldest Winter in history and I think we broke the old record for rainfall last year (and it's still raining). I really don't like to mix the two. Supposed to be 65 to 70 Saturday and Sunday. Ready to ride. This will probably be the first year ever that I actually wish Summer would get here soon. I can't even imagine how bad it's been for Northerners. Jamie

We are having high 30's to low 40's temps and get the ice and snow off the roads. I was hoping to get to ride this weekend but now they are calling for rain here Saturday. If it does rain I hope it rains really hard to help pack down the gravel and wash the sand and salt off of the highways.
