Biketoberfest

Just curious as to how many people go down to Biketoberfest in Daytona and what you normally do for accomodations? I have gotten into the habit of now renting homes for vacations and not hotels, you save so much money on food and you can normally save quite a bit on the rental too, because you can get a decent amount of people in the houses. Just make sure you travel with people you can live with for a few days or a week. Here is the site I use: www.vrbo.com

+1 on VRBO. I used them for a six-day trip last year back to WA state for a wedding. Instead of paying an average of $100/night on a hotel room, I got a two bedroom cottage overlooking the bay, a full kitchen, excellent wireless internet and washer/dryer for the same price.

We have used them 3 or 4 times as well. Did a riding trip down in NC and got a 4500 sq ft lake house for $175 a night. Place was right on the lake, boat docks, everything you could need. I will never stay in a hotel again unless I absolutely have to.

Not a problem. I already have my rental secured for October. I like to get all that out of the way early so all I have to do is get there.

I grew up about 30 minutes away from Daytona and never went to Octoberfest or bikeweek. Now I live 2500 miles away and would LOVE to go.

I'm looking forward to it. Not only all the bikes and people but seeing some old friends as well.

Made it to Daytona for Bike Week this year and had a great time.
Weather a little chilly. I'm fortunate to have a very good friend who
lives in Daytona and we are able to stay with him and his wife.
Plus he also rides a Kawasaki. (Vulcan)

I've never been to the "bikeweek" but I have used http://www.vrbo.com/ and then,... just lately for my trip to NYC, my wife and I and another couple used http://www.homeaway.com/ and found a great Manhattan townhouse.
When on a major holiday like the New York vacation, I'll never stay in another hotel again. One of these two home rentals companies or a B&B. I'll leave the hotel/motels for bike trips and rallies.
