Wind likely cause of rider death
A REAL windy ride recently on my way back from Detroit, I could see this happening. Truck passing a woman on a MC, stops the wind she is leaning into and she rides into the truck. Article below.

THANKS!!! I'm not sure I would have thought about that on my own.

I find that years of experience ridind, help deal with situations like that, the hard part is living long enough to gain the experience.

Wind likely cause of rider death
I can certainly relate. I battled some 30+ mph winds on a ride back from Chicago a few weeks back. A few scary moments to say the least.

Wind likely cause of rider death
Cancelled my trip today due to high wind forecast. Where I was going is very hilly and the gusts are dangerous... often throwing bikes into oncoming traffic -- not something I cared to battle today.

Wind likely cause of rider death
Know what you mean, Doc. I was on an interstate a couple weeks ago going 75-80 and seemed like I got caught between 3 18 wheelers. They were all pulling at me from different directions and that was probably the scariest moment so far for me. Glad I'm riding an 1000-plus (with me on it) pound bullet. If I were on a 400 or 500 pound bike there would be many days I wouldn't get out. Jamie

Wind likely cause of rider death
Those 400 pound sport bikes, or sport touring, bikes handle wind much better than our Nomads with the big sail for a windshield.
