Play with words all you want. By your definition nobody has the right to do anything.... they may have the desire,urge etc etc... by that definition, nobody has any rights.

We can play this one all day, because no one can answer the question of why cant there be a smoking bar across the street from a non-smoking bar??????

It is because it has been proven when the laws were voted on and passed with "minor" restrictions that allowed places to make their own choice that it did impact the non-smoking bars revenue. So to be fair to the non-smoking establishments that were losing revenue from customers leaving because of the no-smoking restriction and going across the street to another township ....the laws were "modified" beyond what was originally sold and voted on and put everyone on an even playing field which is "only fair" nobody smokes anywhere.

I'm sure masturbation makes a lot of people happy, too - but you don't have the right to do it anywhere you want to. There's laws against doing that in public.

El Paso had passed that law several years ago. All bars, restaurants, bowling alleys, etc... with exception to the gambling casinos. Bars never really bothered me too much, but I enjoy more going out and eating without having to inhale all the smoke.

I've heard Michigan is in the process of passing a bill to ban smoking in these establishments as well.

I bet the same ones that want to tell some they can or can't smoke think it is terrible to be told they have to wear a helmet. I don't smoke by choice, I wear a helmet by choice.

To me it's all about infringement on others.

If you want to sit in a bar and drink, that only hurts you.
If you want to have unprotected sex with strangers, that again, only hurts you.

But if you light up a cigarette in the same room as other people, that hurts them all.

Not surprisingly all I have seen is the parroted why not to, why you dont and why I shouldnt.

No one has answered, whats wrong with having a bar on one side of the street that doesnt allow smoking and another across the street that does?
How does that challenge anyones right of choice, unless they cant choose and need someone to make the choice for them?

If the bar that allows smoking goes broke because no one comes in because of the fear of second hand smoke or not enough smokers to support it or the bar that doesnt allow smoking goes broke because it cant draw enough customers due to choice of another location that allows something it doesnt...

Wouldnt that be the normal free market and free choice speaks for itself instead of the current do it my way because its what I believe method of freedom of choice we seem to be headed?
