who went riding today?

Well, the wife was feeling better so we went over to Bike Week. Went to the Speedway, then down to Beach Street, over to the Convention Center (went into the HOG gathering, wearing my KawaNOW shirt, lol) and Main Street. Finished up by riding up US 1 to Destination Daytona. Saw Vinnie that used to be on OCC show. He has his own line of customs now. Walked a lot and saw a ton of cool stuff that I wish I had money to buy, lol.

Entire trip was about 245 miles.

HAD planned on riding south of Tucson today, but was called in to work instead. But I did ride the bike to work, so I got a couple miles in.

I think I'll probably be in a 'least-amount-of-miles' race with BlownDodge, as the bike is a little over two months old and only has 700 miles on it. :-/

Well, since not many northern "Yankees" are chiming in, I guess I will. I rode over 200 miles today and as Flash said, it was about 80 all day. Done what I've been dreaming about for years and now that I finally got my bike last Saturday, I did. Drove to Clinton, Ms and got on the Natchez Trace and rode about 120 miles on the 'Trace'. If you haven't heard of it, the Natchez goes from Natchez, Ms to somewhere up in Tennessee, I think. It's a Federal Highway and the speed limit is 50 mph. It may not be exciting to some of you 'speed demons', but it is the perfect 2 lane road to travel, with some 'breathtaking' scenery and a lot of history and historic sites along the way if you want to stop and stretch your legs a bit and maybe learn something new. My fellow Mississippians know all about it and it's just great to just "ride" and not worry about nuts on the road and very little traffic. There ain't too many nuts on this highway, they are strict on the speed limit and the fines are harsh. No commercial vehicles are allowed and if you are pulling a trailer you better have a recreational vehicle or boat on it. You can't even have a business sign on your truck or tools in the back of it. I bet I passed 60 or 70 bikes today, I stopped counting. Every single rider waved and probably over half were driving Harleys. But we are called the "Hospitality State". We may be last in many things, but we're near the top in being nice, respectful, out-going and most of us have a smile on our faces. Had my Nad a week and went over 500 miles today. It just don't get no better than that. Pardon my English.

Met up with a group of riders from Atlanta. About 20 bikes, all Harleys, except for one 04 blue & silver Nomad!!

Jamie, Is it OK to pull a trailer behind the motorcycle. My wife and I are planning a trip up the Trace in the next month or so.

My wife and I put on about 130 miles. Rode to Wye Mountain for the daffodils then up to Conway for a meal. Winds were a little bit gusty but the temperature was great. Hwy 113 between Hwy 10 and Hwy 60 was a nice twisty bit of fun.

Washed the bike, so I rode it around the neighborhood to dry it. Doin a rain dance here. Been too dry here and had to water the yard. I'll ride in the morning to church and late into the evening after. Spring forward.

Count me in. The wife and I did our first 2009 criuse on the North fork of Long Island NY.
It was a little scary, there was snow still melting making some turns iffy. Had a MAJOR clean up to do on the bike when we got home.

No riding yesterday as the front end was in pieces (missing tools to finish the riser swapout), but we did get out today and went for a short (~60 miles) ride through the foothills ... perfect day for a ride!

who went riding today?

Ann and I took off this morning for a day-long ride to the Texas hill country area. Well, made it as far as Hico, Tx. Stopped in Glen Rose for some BBQ, then walked around Hico - not much there, but did tour the Billy The Kid museum. Cool stuff.

Felt great to be on the bike without all the layers I've been riding with for the last few months.

who went riding today?

Wife and I took a 250+ mile trip on Saturday to start off the year. Rode from Raleigh to Elizabethtown via back roads, then returned thru Fayetteville. Need to get seat practice for the Helen GA Rally next month. Sky was clear, weather was warm and almost everything worked. (Need to adjust my throttle control a bit)

Did a surprise visit to one of my brothers...surprise, he wasn't home. . Had a wonderful day out.
