Trailer light wiring dilemma

Cj, my trailer had all sorts of stuff to make it seen.... I used orange fiberglass whips, and had reflective tape on them. The odea was in day time the orange might stand out as the staffs whipped about all the time and moving things catch the eye. I added to them back and white plastic caps with the ends cut off to make contrasting colors at the tops.

At night the reflectors glowed in any lights on them. I also made a big NH to Cal in black tape, bordered in some sort of relective tape i don't know the make off, but it made lots of bright colors.

The way I look at it is cagers don't expect a bike to be towing a trailer in the first place., so you have to make it seen. At night all the lights make it appear as something more than it is from a distance which IMO is a good thing.

One thing I do wonder about is the way you might set these lights up, it that this will confuse cagers who are easily confused.. They may know you are making a move, but what move with it be?

Ok, here are some LED sequential with moving arrow turn signals. The dumbest dumba$$ should be able to tell what move you're planning to make.

Of course, we all know that there is nothing idiot proof! ???

These are still great turn signals but a little pricey.

It should work separately with the Hoppy converter. The turn signals are on their own wires separate from the brake. I have 4 lights on the back of my trailer. All four are on when it stops but the outside two work separately for the turn signals. All you should have to do for a 3rd brake light is tie it in with the other brake lights.

Mine is the same Hoppy as shown on Gadgits web page. It has a big red wire then a green, red, yellow, brown and white wire. The big red goes to the battery and is fused. The white is ground, the green and yellow are for the blinkers , the brown for running lights and the other red is the brake lights. (I think that's right, been a while since I hooked it up). Works great though.

There is no separate brake light circuit in a 4-wire trailer configuration. The 4 wires are :ground, LT, RT, and tail/marker. The Hoppy takes a 6-wire input: 12vdc, ground, tail, LT, RT, and brake and converts it to a 4 wire output by using the turn signal circuit as brake lights. I didn't want to run a separate brake circuit from the motorcycle to the trailer. I bought a third brake light controller, which should solve the problem.

It must have gone up after I ordered mine, then. It's been 3 weeks since I placed the order.

I just checked and mine cost $31.48 with free shipping. That's a big price difference.

$31.48 at Advance Auto Parts. If the store doesn't have it, they'll order it to pick up in the store the next day with no shipping charges.

I'm seeing lots of things manufactured with petrochemicals taking big price jumps. The Hoppy qualifies there.
